Grabber Blue...? This build just gets better and better. I have wanted that color on my hull since i first saw it.. my build is on hold. But it will look so sharp on this hull! black pole by chance? is that your fx1 over there? >

Yea grabber blue for the win! I miss the hell out of my mach 1 and wish I could pick up one of the '14 mustangs but since I cant I figured I would pay tribute to it by painting this ski that color. And yea black pole and most likely black turf. The fx1 used to be mine but I sold it to a buddy to help fund this build (I wish I would have kept it, along with the mint wb1 I had!)

Not done yet but getting closer! Thanks dude. I fell off for a bit because I got sick but now I'm back at it.

Today I picked up some ppg 2k primer and some evercoat filler. I spread the last bit of west systems 410 that I should need on the bottom of the tail and then laid a skim coat of the regular filler down the sides. Tomorrow I will block down the sides and hopefully skim coat the bottom with the evercoat. I'm trying to have it primed and ready for paint this weekend!

Absolutely zero progress on the hull lately as the motor on my air compressor pooped out. However I did help Craig finish his FX1 and that has made it back in the water and is running pretty good aside from a bit of a miss. Throwing some plug boots on that tonight and taking it for a spin and then stopping by an electric motor supplier tomorrow after work to hopefully get the compressor fixed. Maybe shoot some paint next weekend?!?!

I finally got a chance to drop the air compressor motor off today after work and I should hear back about what the damage is tomorrow.

The bottom of the hull is roughed in with 40 grit and I shot some more rattle can SEM primer down to see how things are looking. Just some pinholes to fill on the nose and some blending to do on the tail and then Ill hit the whole bottom again with 80 grit. This body work is taking forever but I want it to be perfect and only spray down the real primer once.

Got a new ride so Ive been distracted for a bit, but today I picked up a compressor and did some more work on the bottom deck. Im going to try to get moving early tomorrow so I can get the whole ski sanded up to 120 to start shooting down the ppg primer.

awesome build man and sounds like you are fairly local. as for the body filler i really wouldn't worry, i have used it for year in things that see water and once it is sealed by paint i have never had an issue. hopefully later this summer i will get to see this out on the water

Thats good to hear! Are you going to Wave Rave?

Yep just bit the bullet and bought a new one so I would have a warranty for a couple years. It was either $250 for a motor on the other one or $500 for a compressor and I figured that would be the safer bet, plus I got some spare parts now.

I REALLY wanted grabber blue, but I fell in love with this one once I saw the interior.

hadn't heard about it. but would love to go to an event or two this year.

and beautiful mustang man

Heres the link to the event:

So I slacked off all weekend riding craigs fx1 and drinking beer on the boat, but I picked up the sanding block again these past couple nights and have been beating up the bottom deck with 80 grit and fine tuning some spots on the tail. It is really close now and I am confident that I can get it bumped up to 120 tomorrow night provided I don't get caught at work too late. This needs to be painted by the end of the weekend or its all going up for sale!

I'm just kidding, there is no way in hell I am ever selling this thing, even if I end up homeless I'm still holding on to this hoe!

Got the bottom up to 120. Time permitting I'll be grabbing some paper, plastic and ear plugs and starting to spray primer tomorrow night.
