Liter motor dreaming...

We know how you feel about epoxy, how do you feel about the bottom of your cases being hogged out for a stroker crank?

If budget and cc's are on your mind, what about buying Steve's 870cc, 8mm stroker? That thing rocks and is at a pretty incredible price right now at $3995 for the shortblock.

I thought 5mm strokers required no over porting??

I don't want total loss either.

I swear man....I am gonna get killed and have to work 2 jobs but I want a non total loss non epoxied liter motor. DASA sounds great but if I drop 10k on a motor/carbs my life as I know it is over.

I'm so torn.

well in theory if you run the TS motor you can run it without doing the epoxy work... thats something that TS do as part of their extras for the performance...

Dude... seriously, you are thinking way to much, besides you dont know anything about it. Just call art. Tell him how much money you got and tell him to do the rest.

I don't think you could push 1000cc's on non heavily ported cases, right?

865 probably.

I don't know...I have never thought about this so much so I don't what works with what on liter set ups.

Matt, I am giving you some DEAD SERIOUS advice now. Just about everyone here thinks they know everything about everything and in reality don't know chit about chit. ME INCLUDED.

OTHER THAN

call all the engine builders and talk to them, see who gives you the warm and fuzzy feeling. Now that you picked a builder-DO EXACTLY WHAT THEY SAY ALL THE WAY THROUGH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you keep asking opinions here, you wil never make a decision-or worse yet-buy a piece o chit that you hate!!!

i was thinking the 865, although that ada set up looks pretty cool, is it ported for freestyle or racing though? ive always though of ada as having a bias towards racing

No. Dont even do that. Talk to the builder and let them Do EVERYTHING. Dont touch :):):):) or try to have any input of your own other than what your expectations on final product are.

Yea I tend to think a lot before dropping 5 to ?k...

And I don't want to bug builders until I have more of a grasp.

i spoke to team scream months before i pulled the trigger, that was while radney was there and i pm'd chuck a few times, plus i talked to people that had bought the motor

ask ask ask

its your $$ you spending and you woul dbe spending a fair amount so they shouldnt see it at you bugging them

Don't rule out Steve's engine due to Total Loss, it's not included in the shortblock and that engine will run with your stock electrics just fine.

Could not agree more. When I ordered my motor last month, first thing I said was "I want your complete package, start to finish...just tell my how much it costs".
