If you want a 2lbs Simpson helmet like mine(Similar to Troy Lee D2) I can get you one straight from the factory for $120. They retail for $140. Super light and sweet looking helmet.

I kinda figured a MX helmet would soak up a lot of water, and get pretty heavy I imagine. The 550 is a dog, but im gonna pull of the rev limited to see if I can get a little more top end out of it. That's an awesome looking helmet but I think i'll hold off for now on that, I wont be doing anything crazy like you guys down there.

MX helmets have too much padding. What you need is a high end downhill bike helmet. You can get a decent one at walmart for $50 that looks like this just a little heavier.

mines from walmart and its got the padding but works great in the water and really dont even notice its there and its dot approved but not sure which one it is off the top of my head....i know its for offroad biking

Water on the island was nice yesterday.......72 deg. waist to chest high with occasional head high sets. Cleanest I've seen in a while, not as choppy as usual. Seaweed is still a problem from the shore to the first sandbar, not as bad around the second bar out. Supposed to be head high this weekend....anyone want to come down and ride??

That sixone is just like the Simpson but cheaper. Nice! Not made in New Braunfels, TX though. Not as nice! ;P

Surf is forecast for 6-7 feet all weekend long down here. I'm finishing up some mods on the Blaster but should be out riding tomorrow and Sunday. Hopefully the wind doesn't chop up the surf too bad......getting 20mph + gusts for the past few days. I'll try to post some riding condition pics.

If anyone needs any type of coordination or info from the Corpus Christ/Padre-Mustang Island/Port A area feel free to hit me up. We mainly ride around Packery Channel/JP Luby and Bob Hall areas..........Port A has too many tourists most of the time.

dogs are allowed. there is a leash law......make sure you have their tags too.

Keep them on a leash if the cops are near. Other than that, pretty damn lax. We have had dogs out there off the leash too, never really a big deal.
