"Pretty killer ride. The bigger ones rolling through were in the 12' range I would guess. Probably 100 or so people out there watching the waves and us tearing them up. Bruins almost lost his ski which made for some added excitement. Good times..." dont know if its the same guy but if it is id def say hes on the forum if it is def not good!

Where did this quote come from?

sure hope he gets found this is one of my worst nightmares. water is a huge force.

one thing i cant realy grasp.
"The family of the missing jet skier called 911 to report that he had not come home"

so his ride friends did not notice at all that he was missing? they left him out there and headed home w/o him? believing he was riding?

prays to him and his family.

never surf ride alone.

yea i saw the name USCG released and put 2 and 2 togeather when i saw the name

I understand that it helped you figure out the name, however it introduced riding details that confuse the actual issue. People are now thinking that Bruins was spotted riding later in the day.

People are grasping at every detail to make sense of this and false information can be very damaging this early.

Yea man WTF where were his buds at?

I am F%$%^ing piss and dont get how this can happen....

I completely understand these emotions and know that no-one would just leave him so, there has to be an explanation as to what happened. Little things happen on normal days and we don't think much about it at the time but big water is so unforgiving regardless of how prepared we are. Out of respect for the family and those directly involved, how about we keep these kind of comments to a minimum and focus on what is really important. Pray for Bruins safe rescue and send his friends and family all the hope and prayers you can.

In incident cause mapping, we describe each part of a scenario as a layer of swiss cheese. the more layers, the better chance of avoiding an accident or incident. The truth is, no matter how many layers of protection and safety are involved, sometimes the holes in the cheese all line up and accidents occurr.

It the waves weren't so big I would be out there with my boat until he was found. Yesterday was 60+ gust and today has been pretty windy all day. I really hope everything is alright and prayers for him and his family...

I am with everyone else on the people he rode with. When I go with a group, even if I don't know the person, if I see someone in the back I will not leave them because you never know if something would break down and they need help.

On the great lakes this time of year....I fear he worst.

for the people that arent familiar with the great lakes and think of them as "big ponds", you couldnt be more wrong about the nature of these inland freshwater seas. Unpredictable currents and weather patterns coupled with frigid waters year round make them some of the most tracherous bodies of water on earth.

Here's hoping for Mr. Bruins' safe return home. His "buds" need their asses kicked.

Our Prayers go out to Kevin and his Family. Kevin is a great rider and a good friend. I have had many good rides with him, I really hope this was not his last! We will do all we can to help!
