Are you talking about changing the venu for LSFR or for next time?

Were about 4 hours from Freeport. It took us 5+ hours with the camper last March. Too bad there is not a more neutral site less than 4 hours for all of us. I'll work on our guys for LSFR but pulling a camper for 5+ hours isn't helping us. We'd have to have a house or something most likley.

Anyway, we have access to my Aunt's harbor house just south of Port A on Padre Island. It's right by our favorite riding spot "Bob Hall Pier." It has plenty of room for all of us and I can bring my camper for a beach base camp. There is also an inexpensive but nice hotel/RV park in Port A. It has 2 queen beds for $100 a night on the summer weekends. They have 2 bedroom suites for $135. It's right off the beach with a very large, hot jaccuzzi that has room for 8+ and a pool. There are more options at Port A and there are plenty of night spots and breakfast spots. Not to mention the full grocery store and lots of gas stations minutes from the beach. There are even a few rental houses on the beach but not as many as Freeport.

I just want to show up, chip in for a house - and not worry about shiot for a change.

If its going to be the new fall LSFR site, I'd say we do it that weekend Sep 18,19,20. If not, let me see what the guys will commit to and get it done. I can talk to the Hotel owner about a suite or two at the hotel. Check out the place:

OK, the good thing about this hotel is there is always a vacancy. It's a buget place but Ken the owner takes pride in it and keeps it clean. So we can get just a few of us to commit to a nice party suite and others will have the ability to show up last min. I'll talk to everyone tomorrow and get the ball rolling.

Erbody chime in on moving LSFR to Port A Sept. 18, 19, and 20th or not. Quickly please!

Yep all those places are good. There are few houses directly on the beach like Surfside though. So, your going to have to drive out to the beach each morning reguardless of your acomidations. Might as well save a few coin and go with a place like Tropical Island. It's a few blocks off the beach and a 2 queen and one queen double bedroom suite with a kitchen and living area is only $125 a night in the fall. The spa is always hot and clean too. (I know clean pools when I see 'em btw) There is a good breakfast joint across the street, and all the bars are close as TI is in the middle of town. We stayed there in the regular rooms last year and enjoyed it.

I assume u two want two spots in the two bedroom suite with us. That leaves 2-3 more spots there, assuming someone takes the couch or has an air matress. PM me if you want a spot. Is there camping on the beach

There is camping on the beach. Everyone with a vehicle will have to purchase a 2009 beach permit for $10 at a local gas station. That covers a camper and trailer too. Camping north of the pier in Port A is extra but a short drive down the beach to marker 24+ Is where free camping with a beach permit is allowed. That is the best place for all of us to ride as well. It's cleaner and less crowded that time of year. It's just 1 mile down from the main part of Port A beach and the pier.

I havn't been able to reserve the room yet but it shouldn't be a problem. They arn't answering. I was planing on geting the big room for Friday and Saturday nights only so you'lle need a diferent room if you come early Thursday. I cant get down till Friday unless plans change.

I just got the big room reserved for Friday and Saturday night. Looks like that room is full. If anyone else wants a room let me know before booking and I can get a good price. Ken knocked off $40 buks a night for us on the Suite.
