I bought mine from Yamanube and I'm pretty sure he kicks himself every time he thinks about it. I haven't run any other pipe on this ski to know if it performs better or worse but i can say it has stood up better than my B-pipe, is 3 times older and still looks better. I had purchased a Wamiltons but quickly sold it as it wasn't near the quality of this one.

Don't listen to the haters, unless they are telling you to build a good product and don't cheap out. Crammit made this pipe and a handful of others and they are very well built.

Hey Boyer, I'll buy it back. :naughty:

HAHA, I'll bet you will. You have always had and will continue to have, first dibs if I ever decide to sell it.

Actually, it belongs to Jen now. I handed over my 07 to her right after Daytona. The SS846 needs a limited chamber.

Only 2 ever made from what i've been told, (blue ones anyways).

As a testament to their durability, how old are these chambers Gil?

My guess is they are made from 2 thin pieces, then those 2 pieces are bonded and wrapped to build up the thickness and a visual layer is done over all of that, but I really have no idea.

You may be right with Crammits because the outside is seamless. The Wamiltons one I had was build in two halves that were epoxied together. You can clearly see the joint and it is a very poor joint at that.

Also notice how the stinger fitting is installed? Note to the OP, don't build yours like this!!!

The blue one is one of Crammit's-correct? If so, I believe he made them 5 yrs ago. Mine has had 320 gallons of burnt fuel through it with 0 issues.

If you only wanted to make one you could make a male mold with that pink insulation foam and then melt it out with MEK once it sets up (would only work with epoxy resin). I have also seen carbon sleaves that can be shrunk or expanded throughout a pretty large range of diameters. I imagine that would be a pretty fool proof way of getting a good looking part given you can get one of those sleaves in the right size.

How is the stinger installed on your pipe? It just looks like a plug right now but basically the same as the wamiltons chamber with a layer of carbon to cover the bulge.

I talked with my composite guru friend here in town and yes, that's it in a nutshell Jett for making the seamless type.
Then the Wammer one is just 2 pieces built to thickness, bonded, then clear gel coated.

I only made one blue pipe. There is a red(mod I think)one, and I believe there are two clear carbon(black-1 ltd/1 mod)chambers. I'm not sure, but I think I made them in late 2005. There is also a FPP 650sx chamber and a couple of westcoast 650 tail cones floating around somewhere. From my experience, to make one that looks like something I'd take credit for, there is no possible way to make them at a price point that would even come close to working. Add to the equation that they almost certainly don't make any more power(and possibly less)and they're cool, but not practical. I really just made them because I could. The way I made them is not really a proprietary process or truly secret, but I would never deprive any of you the personal pride and satisfaction gained from the time and effort that will be required to come up with a process that works consistently

Interesting, so does Gil have a different color or does one of us have somebody elses chamber? Does mine look like your creation? A parent always recognizes their offspring right? LOL

My black one came from Crammit. The side of my ski should say Team Crammit. lol

So I have the only blue chamber ever made then? How sweet is that?

:bow28:

Crammit's chambers are a true work of art. People have said that they lose power after the initial heat soak cycle-but I can't feel any loss whatsoever.

That may be true in racing where sustained WOT runs are more common but I mostly freeride so I'm on and off the throttle so much it never really heats up, plus I have a spray bar in my headpipe putting down a fan spray of water going into the chamber so maybe that helps as well.
