Making of the SNX Hull

So fitting this pipe has been a nightmare. Not from anything wrong with the pipe, because it is very well made, but from fitment issues with my existing equipment and me not ordering the correct parts I needed.

First thing I noticed is that I ordered the wrong stinger size coupler. I bought a 2" and needed a 2.25". Only place I can find that has a 2.25" (other than online) is an hour drive.

Second issue was rather minor, but still found it annoying. My water routing had to be redone. I needed Y fittings and right angle barbs. I searched all of the local hardware stores and no one had exactly what I needed. The manifold has 1 eighth inch NPT and 1 quarter inch NPT. Odd. I also needed some reduction Y's from 1/2 to 3/8. No big deal, I improvised. I had some 1/2" Ys already and adapters, and I have 1/4" right angle barbs and a 1/4" NPT tap.

Third problem is how large the waterbox is. I'm running a limited slip 5 gallon tank and there is just no way that tank and waterbox are going to fit in this hull.

I have at best 4" of clearance on the waterbox side. The waterbox is 5". I am probably going to pickup the new 3 gallon tank limitedslip is making, but in the mean time I ordered a kart tank. This is the biggest disappointment of the fitment issues because I was really hoping to get on the water Sunday. But, stuff happens and you don't always get to play when you want to. I'll survive. I am just hoping that it gets here before next weekend since we have a little Freeride in surfside that I am very much looking forward to. If it doesn't I could always rig up a 2 gallon red gas can...

I was going to lay up the reduction nozzle, but I'm exhausted. I'll knock that out tomorrow or Sunday.

I did receive the last of my packages for the next project I am working on. Whoever is the first one to correctly guess what I am making and identify all of the parts I will make a free coupler cover for. (except scraggly. No cheating Matt )

Id guess either an improved annodizing system or an improved heat cure system.

If you rig that setup with a red gas can, i will both applaud your inginuity and scorn your disrespect for what that machine desevers simultaneously.

I was gonna suggest the red gas can rig as a stop-gap between ur new limited slip tank. I've seen a couple peeps do that mod with a reasonable "sano" look to it. And, for just one weekend, it'll do.

I said deserves thinking about it being so pretty.

But at the end of the day, what that ski really deserveves is to ridden, flipped. We demand Red gas cans and ride reports!.

My guess will be wild but it has something basis in logic, I guess you are making a carbon driveshaft? my buddy who makes fishing poles has a big electric motor that looks like that, that spins them while they cure so the coating is even

Lol it will be the most sano red gas can ever. I'll do a carbon wrap on it...

Someone's guess is very close, but not quite. And no one has tried to name the components (guessing alone would be too easy).

Glad to hear about new bushing and breather design - I've been meaning to tell you that I reworked my pole to use bigger bushings and that the breather position was weird for my bracket, hopefully it doesn't pinch the hoses/cables/etc. Good to hear you are already working on it!
My new Toby T1 is going together now, I'll shoot you some pics when the pole goes on.

Thanks Neil! Actually it was your feedback that helped with revising the bushing area. I appreciate it! We went to a single wider opening in the center and closer towards the base of the pole so that tubes go straight up when the pole is moved up instead of out and around. I'll post some pictures once the honeycomb pole is done.

If you need custom bushings turned for your pole, send me a PM. Just need the measurements and I'll draft them and have them cut free of charge. Glad to hear about your hull. Is it the one that Toby just posted pictures of?

That crazy aluminum circle looks like a heat sink, similar to one off of a computer processor almost, it's something to do with heat tho

for components i would guess a switch, led display, amp meter, heat sink, capacitor, and some kind of crazy resistor it says 500 ohms on it
