Thanks Chris. :veryhappy:

This whole custom ski business sure takes a lot more time (and money) than I had anticipated.
I got the motor mounts and the hull side hood hooks installed.
I wanted to install the intake grate but could not because I want to install the pump first so that I can put sealant between pump shoe and pump packing from the intake side. I can't install the pump yet because I can't tighten the impeller because I loaned out my impeller tools. :soapbox:
I wanted to install my steering plate but couldn't because I need to figure out something for a steering stop. :soapbox:
I wanted to install my bilge pumps but couldn't because I need to install cooling lines first. Couldn't do that because I need 1/2 this time, not 3/8. :soapbox:
I wanted to install the ebox mount but couldn't because I need the motor in first to see just how far over I can push the ebox so that I'll have enough room for the primer and bilge switch in the tray. :soapbox:

I guess my next step will be (temporarily) installing and aligning the engine.

The Good Old Days
Just look at it this way.
Most wouldn't have the patience to get as far as you have so wait just a bit longer.
If that hull was sent to my place, it would have stayed black and been all scratched up form riding by now.
It deserves to look its best if only for a day or 2.

Harr, I've already banged it up with a wrench.
My wife flinched more than me. That's right, she sits in the garage to hang out with me while I assemble this thing. (There is cheap box wine involved here)

I have no idea if it would work but on my RRP I went out and bought a poly cutting bored, then used a hole saw cut two holes, stacked the coupons, slid a bolt thru the center and it couldn't have turned out better.

Pump area is pretty much done and aligned. I still need to cut down the ride plate tonight and install that.
I might tackle the hood seal tonight as well.

I forgot!
also, to tighten your prop with no tool. hand tighten prop. when you drop in water make sure the motor is running and it will tighten itself!

this will overtorque the prop and make it difficult to remove. torque to 45 ft lbs.

oops sorry guys. Matt, looking good, go get it wet.
