Custom/Hybrid Matt_E's Superfreak Build

I'm moved by DASA power!
Matt did you need shorter bolts for alot of the install because the inserts were more shallow? My buddy did on his ROK, I am going to a local supply house today to stock up on extra hardware so I dont have to run out every 2 minutes.

What should you use? Dremel? Bolt cutters? Die grinder? I've done it with a hacksaw before but not in this volume.

Doesn't matter what you cut it with as long as the threads survive.
I run a nut up the bolt just past the point at which I want to cut it. The nut will repair the threads when you spin it off.

The motor mount bolts need to be shorter than stock. I have a bunch of OEM fasteners in all sizes, so I didn't need to cut - I just picked a shorter bolt.

If you do have to cut a bolt, put a nut on past the cut. You want to remove the nut over the cut later. This restores the threads. Then hacksaw it/dremel it. After that, remove the nut

I think I am done test-installing stuff. I did the pump and trim again last night plus the intake grate.
Today I will thoroughly wash the hull and sand it to prep for primer.

Seriously dude, are you part polish ?
Drinking on the job is bad enough but to drink the perfumed stuff ?
That's just wrong.

The front of that ski looks sad.

Meh, it was on sale. I needed to see what the regularly high price was about.
Besides, who likes drinking potato vodka? Oh wait, the Polish!

Also, I told you that my grandmother was from Danzig. Her family origins book has German "Reinheit" stamps, though. :lmao: So probably not polish.

Potato Vodka is the only way to go.
That perfumed stuff makes my vomit smell weird.

What, too much info ?

Living in Gdańsk (learn the proper spelling, will ya) must have taught your Grandmother the benefits of the potato nectar. It's the best antifreeze out there.
I wonder if she ever met my grandfather, he was over in Westerplatte when he was younger. Wouldn't that be cool.
:bigok:

It's cold out there. First thing I need to is wash the hull, and is definitely no fun in the cold.

I ordered an OEM hood seal.

EDIT: I just got done washing the hull and hood to get any release agents off it before I sand it. I guess I need to go to the store for sandpaper sometime today.
I should be getting my midshaft rebuild kit from Jetmaniac today, as well.
I might even try to clean that disgusting fuel tank.
