Agreed that they're terrible investments but after you do it you'll be wishing you had ponied up the money many moons ago. Think of it as an investment in your quality of life.

I went from a 735 with a b pipe and 144 with a tbm stuffer. To a pfp and a 148 torrent set back and the difference was huge. Not sure what made more of a difference but I'm sure either would be a nice difference

Nothing quite like slingin' a pipe.

Go pipe. U won't notice a pump unless ur spinning the hell out of ur current one. Carbs...the same. Unless u've got the current set dialed to a "T" throwing a new set on won't feel night and day diff. It may b more crisp and off idle will be better, but until ur dialed new carbs won't magically boost power.

Had a great time at the SFF this weekend! Beat the crap out of my RIP and my body...and had tons of fun.

Scary thing happened when I got home... I went to clear out my ski, gave it a rev like normal, and it ran away like crazy! I couldnt stop it. I held the throttle wide open, I pushed the stop button, I pulled the plug boots off, I disconnected the start/stop....nothing stopped it.

My roommates were both outside when this was happening and I literally looked right over at them, and was like...."I dont know what to do, stand back, it might blow up." lol.

Finally I just ripped the fuel lines off and eventually it stopped....but im scared to see what/if any kind of damage it caused.

Air leak somewhere and dieseling amigo. U did the right thing or flood it with the primer. Now it's time to go leak-hunting.

What is dieseling?

I was just wondering how the hell it was still running with no plug wires on it. It felt like this went on forever, but it was probably 45 seconds. Thank the lord for forged pistons? hahaha

Rip flame arrestors off and shove a towel down the carbs.

I would have also tried something like that, but I am running stock single carb FAs on my duals....so many damn screws to take out and I dont think my hand would have been steady enough to handle that...I was freakin' out! lol.

dieseling is running away without any spark and using heat and compression to combust, like a diesel. no way to stop it but to cut the air supply like Harrison said.

Well...today's jetski adventures were interesting and uplifting I guess you could say.

Big thanks to @jo5hi3 for lending me a quality compression tester....my harbor freight reads habitually low.

So yea....225psi both holes, dead even. lol. When someone sends you 185psi domes, you should still do a compression test hahahaha.

Several on ebay for 60.00

It's my next tool purchase at this point.

I was just shocked at how I thought I had a 185psi motor, and then it ran away like crazy to the point where I just expected it to completely explode, and then I compression test it to find out that both holes are dead even at 225psi. I am very lucky.

Hope you're not gonna b*tch out and lower your compression.

I dont really have any reason to do that...ive put at least 75 gallons through that motor

Im going to buy a jug of VP Oxy Fuel off @jo5hi3 and we are going to have a ball burning that sh*T. Its only like 12 bucks a gallon :)
