Dont worry about the turf. It is great to say, Hey, I got a great turf job, but in a year or two you will be replacing the turf!

What is up with the intermediate Shaft and housing?

Yeah im not too worried but am kinda dissapointed I paid $200 for it... just a heads up to future BOB'ers that doing their own turf would be a better/cheaper idea.

It costs about $150 for the turf and pad and glue to do the turf yourself. $50 for the install is waaaaay cheap. I'm not disappointed.

The part that worries me is the seams right where the tops of my feet will rub in the footholds. Time will tell.

I'm home with all my parts. $30 and thirty minutes to bore my nozzle to 85mm. 15 gallons of av gas was $72.

But I would say the two best turf installations that I have ever seen were those done by Crammit and SFL. Both of them do really clean work.

I just put mine on and do the best I can. I could make it nicer but I use to average returfing about once ever year to year & half. Plus patching sometimes.

Your keepers and flywheel cover are done. They aren't perfect by any means but I wasn't going to spend hour after hour to sanding by hand to make them really nice. I just tried to get the most visible areas nice. I left the inside and bottom of the keepers anodized so to help protect the metal and you won't see that anyway. I put a thin layer of glaze on my flywheel cover. It reduces the shine but the reduced shine stays that way unlike bare metal. Let me know if you want the glaze...

$60 for turf. $50 for thick pad. $20 for 8mm pad. $20 for glue and brushes. This includes shipping cost.

I like glaze.

1st snag. The pole bracket area is just 9 inches by 4.5 inches. My XFT bracket is 11 inches wide. Dang.

Time to bust out the angle grinder and get to chopping! I'm assuming that would require the holes to be redrilled though. Maybe not.

Next snag is that one motor mount insert had just enough resin in it to strip when I tried to put a bolt in it. Just the first few threads are stripped and I can't get the bolt to start. I'm getting a tap from John tomorrow and hopefully that will fix it and not make it worse.

Finally got the XFT pole bracket off the pole. Multiple hour ordeal that required a blowtorch and some breakaway spray to get the bracket apart. That thing is way over engineered. Has to be completely disassembled to remove. My XFT pole with steering and cables and chinpad is 10 pounds 15 oz's so I gues it is the heavier version.

I'm hoping to use this gas tank that I got from John but I'm not sure I can get it to mount right so that I can reach the filler. May need a gas tank too. Crossing my fingers.

Yes, I know my shop is trashed. Here is a pic of some parts.

New 144mm. I can hardly turn the driveshaft and am a little worried about it. Skat put a monster cooling fitting on it too. Not sure my line will fit it.
