McB.O.B.

I would be willing to trade my Xmetal bracket with a single breather hole for the Xmetal bracket with two holes, if anyone out there needs one specifically with a single, doesn't matter to me.

The tap fixed the motor mount insert no problem. Thanks John!

The 4 gallon JEGS tank will fit just fine. I forgot to weigh it, though. Thanks again John!

The big BOB graphic is gone off the sides. I like it better now.

The motor is together except for the total loss.

Paul mailed a hood bracket to me today that should be here tuesday.

I spent most of the day trying to figure out why my boat won't start. Two starter solenoids. Go figure. I finally got tired of it and called the marina. I'm too busy putting my BOB together to worry about it anymore.

Wish my engine bay had that much space. That's freaking awesome!

From the looks of how you mounted the gas tank, I think you're going to need to run tubes down from the top instead of running a line from the bottom. Otherwise, you could potentially have a gallon of gas you can't use if the nose of the ski is up. I've got a whole tube of crankcase sealant if you need to seal up the lines and fittings on the tank.

On a side note, DNR dropped by to put a HIN on my stunt hull today. I thought I was busted when they blew a whistle in my driveway to get my attention down on the dock...after I had finished riding for the day. They were real cool about it though. Didn't seem to care that I was both riding without a HIN and riding without registration. Had a bunch of questions about the hull itself and they couldn't mount the HIN's exactly where they wanted but it worked out fine.

How do you mount those tanks ? My xft hood breather tubes are set up for a tank like that . With the stock tank the tubes hit and won't allow them to go to the bottom of the hull . In short it fills with water very fast . Very interested 4 gallons and the price is right. What is the width of that tank ?

Pulling fuel from the top of the tank isn't an option because those two fittings are needed for the vent and the return line. Unless the return line can go to the bottom of the tank. I doubt it though. It will just have to be that way and when it starts sputtering because the fuel is low enough to let air to the bottom fittings with the nose up, I'll know it's time to refill and sputter back home. I bet I'll still get more ride time than I would with a 2 gallon cart tank.

Here is my thought... As long as the vent stays above the fuel line, it should work fine. If you use a clear fuel line for the vent, you'll be able to check your fuel level which you wouldn't be able to do otherwise with a black tank and foam. In order to run a fuel line from the top to the bottom, you would need to tap the bottom side as well so you can attach a fuel line on the top and bottom.

Call me if that doesn't make sense...it's a little hard to explain.

i had my leaking like crazy, I couldn't fix quick enough so I uses 5200 around the cap and all the bolts, and now is fine.

and if I was you dont put the return or the vent on the botton, keep all at the top, much easy to check for leaks and stuff
Experience with it?

I didn't take a picture but I think I can get the tank to work facing the other way so the pickups won't be a problem.

Did you have this same tank Lucas?

What would the ideal sealant be to put around all the through-tank pickups?

Do I need some around the filler too?

I got jazz 3 gallons, but the cap is different, I called Brian at thrust he told me to send over and he would fix it for me, but you know I cant take my gas tank out for a week, so I just use 5200 on the fitting and cap, Josh told me he has a sealant that he does repair on airplane fuel tank, that works great , I just got too lazy and fixed with 5200 still good repair was done in February,

Probably something like PR-1750 or some other style of aircraft grade fuel tank sealant. Those things are amazing and will outlast the foam in the tank itself but really tough to get your hands on and really expensive if you aren't buying in mass quantities.

Next snag is that one motor mount insert had just enough resin in it to strip when I tried to put a bolt in it. Just the first few threads are stripped and I can't get the bolt to start. I'm getting a tap from John tomorrow and hopefully that will fix it and not make it worse.
Had the same issue, unfortunately trying to tap mine made it worse. Ski Clinic is sending out a timesert kit to fix it though.

Wow hang on to that thing unless they make you send it back. Even a single size kit is pretty expensive.
