Here is my thought... As long as the vent stays above the fuel line, it should work fine. If you use a clear fuel line for the vent, you'll be able to check your fuel level which you wouldn't be able to do otherwise with a black tank and foam. In order to run a fuel line from the top to the bottom, you would need to tap the bottom side as well so you can attach a fuel line on the top and bottom.

Call me if that doesn't make sense...it's a little hard to explain.

Not much experience in hydraulics, eh? If you put the vent tine on the bottom and pressure builds in the tank it will push gas out the bottom to relieve that pressure, even if the end of the hose is above the tank it will still push fuel out.

That's unfortunate but glad you set me straight on this.

Those tanks are fine, the first 3 gal Jazz tank we got with Billet filler neck leaked. The problem was address buy the supplier & its good to go now. I got the first one, its all good now. The ones from Thrust have different pick ups, not like the ones from Jeggs. Also you can get them from Brian without any holes drilled.

Ski is looking good

Worked on the total loss today. Air gap, marking TDC, wiring, mounting to a plexiglass plate, etc. The engine bay has so much room it's rediculous. I decided to mount it with a through bolt between the brap strap ratchet and a backing plate. I'm a little worried it may crack under the stress but I don't really think it will.

Started on the fuel lines too when the backing nut for the pickup came loose on my pickup plate. JB weld to the rescue.

Wow, so the brain hangs almost upside down? I wouldn't worry about the poly carbonate breaking... I'd be worried about water running down the backside of the total loss brain all the time.

Get some neoprene washers to put between the plate and where the bolt passes through. Also put a washer where the bolt head contacts the plexiglass.

It has a plate that will distribute the force of the bolt. It's pretty big. You can see it in the pic if you look close. Look at my fingers holding it.

Reading through the instructions for the total loss says not to mount the coils and brain within six inches of each other. Uh Oh. Does this really matter? I'm guessing it's about 4 inches right now.

Who really knows. Buddy of mine bought one of Tera Laho's RIVA Promod Superjets years ago, the Total Loss was set up by one of the best guys in the business and he did it just like you have yours.
