It has a plate that will distribute the force of the bolt. It's pretty big. You can see it in the pic if you look close. Look at my fingers holding it.

When I ran that enclosed box at Daytona, it was being held in place with only 3 bolts with washers. I did use some rubber washers to help absorb the shock but considering the flex that whole box saw, I'm sure you'll be fine. Actually, since your system is mounted almost upside down, your system will see less stress than mine did because the system is being held almost completely in tension. I bet you don't even need the plate but it won't hurt. Maybe even squeeze some turf in between the polycarbonate and the hull and between the polycarbonate and the metal plate you made.

Worked on it most of the day.

Cut up a composite ride plate to fit. Made it a little extended. Then I noticed that the carbon fiber seems to be delaminating. Is this something I can save by pouring some eopxy on it? May have to go back to the drawing board if that doesn't work. I have some stock rideplates I can cut up if I need to.

I also did a LOT of grinding to get the 24/7 bracket and backing plate in.

Motor is lined up and installed with tons of room to spare.

Sounds like a we have a great weekend coming up if I can just get this damn ski finished. I'm working on it all day again on friday.

McBOB Invitational!

4th of July weekend maybe? Somewhere around it anyway.

Things left to do:

1. Find a pole spring or a pair of pole bolts and mount the pole.

2. Finish timing and wiring the total loss.

3. Install my mag stubby cone (not here yet) and put the pump in.

4. Install exhaust, hoses and waterbox, gas tank, and mod and install my etx9 battery box.

5. Install primer and tl/bilge switch.

6. Install bilge pump. I'm bummed that the bracket I bought won't work because the midshaft is so short. Hate to put 5200 on the pretty carbon fiber.

7. Adjust steering, throttle, and trim.

8. Figure out what to do with the ride plate.

9. Tune

It's getting to the point of needing some motel rooms and/or to get some campsites. Both are close by and the campsites have a beach for the skis. This might turn into a real freeride. We have a parts slinger (jetmaniac), so we just need some sponsors and a charity! LOL

We may need to take up a collection for the fines ..... We need to make a good wake to keep the surf guys interested . Two boats in close formation should raise a few eye brows .
