80 degress and you're worried about water temp! I was stoked it hit 45 today and I'm starting to see open patches on the river and am busting ass to get my build done so I can get out there!

I rode my new used 650sx today and it ran like :):):):). Great. Another project. The water felt fine though. Riding time starts now.

My friend has a 650sx with a high comp head, pipe, and a few other goodies. It has smooth power but.... I would describe the smoothness like stepping in dog poo. It's smoother than what you were expecting but quite depressing. It's slow too so if you're accelerating at a snails pace, it might be normal.

Water temp this evening is 66°. Mcsuperfreak will ready for mcinspection tomorrow or sunday when you get time. The bottom sides probably have 10 layers of paint on them by now... Got runs on those areas 4 times in a row. 5 times a charm? Unbelievable!

Finally getting to work on the superfreak again. I got the padding on the sides and in the footholds finished and ruffed up the hoodseal area so the glue would stick better.

I plan to use superglue although I have used contact cement in the past with no problems. The hoodseal I have has a couple of cuts in it that could benefit from some superglue so I thought I would try superglue for the whole thing.

l plain just suck at doing anything with superglue.Had better luck with 3m general trim adhesive. But if you need to glue a couple of cuts, superglue would be the best.

I just did mine with Superglue and it was super-easy, pardon the pun.
I did what Jetmaniac recommends:
1. Lay the hood seal into the channel and tape it down everywhere with masking tape.
2. Glue one 4-8 inch section at a time.

Turfed the sides and the tray. Hoodseal is on. Bilge and pisser fittings are on.

I used 19mm pad on the tray and a lot of pad on the footholds. Once I kick in my feet are in there. I'm happy with the turf job so far. Next I am reinstalling the pancake front foothold and turfing it white. The rails are getting black turf. I got so high on contact cement fumes today it was rediculous. It still sucked listening to all the boats and skis while I did it. I'm about to start working on skis at night after dinner until they are done. This is killing me.

yes best way to do it, make sure u got the tape there, so you wont stretch the seal

Looks sweet. Typical nice Mcdog work on the turf.
I was to lazy to read back in the thread to see what ur doing with the bond line. You doing it in that pimp azz white or in gangsta black?

Bondline/rails will be black molded turf like the tray. I thought it would be tougher than the cut turf and easier to keep looking nice than the white. We bang our skis around a lot around the dock. White turf on the front foothold. Lots of white graphics.

I got off early today and got busy on my ski. Rails are turfed. Pole is installed. I included pics of the superfreak without a chinpad. I'm such a conformist. I was going to install and turf the front foothold but realized that my hoodstrap ratchet needed to attach to the actual foothold since I raised it to make room for all the padding. The foothold seemed flimsy so I added three layers of biax to stiffen and reinforce it.
I included a pic of my work bench. It has two skis worth of parts in that picture.

I doubt I will have it finished but I'm trying. I should get off early tomorrow and maybe get to work on it for a while after we move back in. I hope to at least get the front foothold epoxied on.
