Super Jet Mdavies' SN - Winter Project

Also, Looking into buying some two part foam for behind my footholds. How much do I need? I talked to a place in Toronto that has it for sale, but I feel like I need just a little for how little there is to do.

SJ Build Winter 2010 073.jpg Man'd up and got those footholds installed with rivets. Holes drilled for foam. Just waiting on $ for 2 part foam and contact cement to get the tray all finished up.
SJ Build Winter 2010 074.jpg Realized I messed this up. Thought I'd post my shame.

Finally some progress.

SJ Build Winter 2010 078.jpg Re-ran the electrical and cables through the pole and rubber 'grommet'. Also picked up a beautiful chin pad from Steve-UK.
SJ Build Winter 2010 077.jpg Gaskets too. Finally can say that I am no longer running a stock exhaust. Realized as I went to attach the hose clamp I may have put the coupler on backwards. I assume the groves for the hose clamps do not effect performance nor matter. Correct me if I am wrong.

God willing I will get those clamps on tomorrow, along with the gas tank, battery setup, and carbs on.

I rejeted for the carbs but managed to purchase the inncorrect jetting. Bought 130, instead of the 135's. I have some 132.5's lying around I might just install to fire her up.

Can't wait to hear it. Never actually heard a piped ski before..... I have lived a sheltered life.

Alright, had a hellofa Friday with Midterms and breaking poop that isnt mine.

Came home, tossed on my carbs, gave her alittle fuel and hit the green button.........

Nothing.

Not even a turn. WTF!...... No lanyard. Second attempted, she started up beautifully. Just gave her a blips of the throttle than turned her off.

Started running fuel lines and now I wished I took more pictures/videos of what I was doing.

Alright. Going to attempt to explain this.

Res - to Res pickup
On - to Shorter Pickup
Out - to Front (Stern) Carb
Stern Carb - Back carb (Existing fuel line)
Back carb - Cases (Existing fuel lines, just hope I put it on the proper fitting.)
Back carb - Return on gastank.

The picture I uploaded shows it fairly well. I hope I can get some input on any changes I need to make.

Thanks, Mike

I forgot!
your carbs should say pulse, and have arrows of fuel flow. typically stock 38's have a single fuel pump so you have the master and a slave carb. fuel goes in the bottom and out the top of the carbs, just like the water cooling on the head pipe. in the bottom and out the top to get rid of air bubbles by filling up and overflowing. i ususally don't fire my ski with fuel down the carbs but lots of people do, by means of the primer. i always hand prime my carbs. primer bulbs work good but sometimes make for lean cold starts. you got a fuel filter on the line somewhere? looking good, lets see the pipe.

I'd be lost without the x

and it takes a very small amount of foam for behind the footholds i'd say get the smallest container you can

looking at the picture i am not sure exactly how you got it but i think it is wrong. lol. i may be wrong to though. the fuel selector switch is 2 in and one out. the out runs to the in of the rear carb. after that you look good until the top out of the front carb, that should be extra fuel going back to the tank. is your motor all the way back?

I have the fuel enter the carbs at 1.

Pulse fitting at 2.

Fuel line going to return on tank at 3.

I have searched the X for diagrams and haven't been successful. Service manuals for SN show the lines, but they are single carb. The Service manuals for RN's aren't detailed and of no help..

As for my motor being all the way back? Its shimmed and mounted, not sure what you mean exactly.

it has been a while but i think the master carb is the rear. i think you have your inlet and return line reversed. you have a pretty good gap between your couplers.
