Having just spent an hour googling Canadian Gang Videos, (looking for a copy hosted from other than FB), I can now better appreciate the levity of the above posted video. The reality is much, much harsher and the gangs in Canada are just as bloodthirsty and out of hand as the rest of the world. Some things you just can't unsee.

Meanwhile in Canada, the bottom of the genepool thrive regardless of the lockdown on waterway use ...just saw this tool motoring by the boat launch.

I'm a touch jealous. They've blocked our boat launches - I could kart in but I would have bylaw there within the hour.

Our launches are closed too with barricades. For something as small as that though, it can be dropped in at any water's edge, never mind ramps when you have a pocket toy lol. I have to admit though, that little thing moves pretty good. He was probably doing 30mph. Pretty stupid of him though to be the only one out there. The water temp is only +5 C/~42 F. All he would need is to tag something just below the surface that he didn't see, get flipped off, nail his noggin off anything or have whatever drives it flip up and maim his melon, maybe the law stops him and hands him a few thousand dollar fine for stupidity..who knows. He's taking a big risk for the little entertainment value.

I just saw that guy again and had a chance to chat with him. He's an ok joe but still running a fair risk. He's not wearing a drysuit, just a 5/3 wetsuit. The board is neat but there are no permissible laws in Canada for these things yet according to what he told me. It is a hydrofoil powered by a big battery. It's quite well thought out other than it's not a jet drive, it has a collapsible two blade prop. If that thing ever flipped up and tagged your bean you're probably not going to like it if you remember what happened lol.

I have been looking at the jet foils, but these jetsurf boards look much more fun, and you can ride them in shallow surf.
