Other Most frustrating moments with your ski.. Let's hear yours!

Took the X2 out a few weeks ago after work and couldn't get it started when I got to the boat ramp. Spent about 30 minutes checking EVERYTHING because I wasn't getting fire. I finally realized I forgot to put the lanyard in. By then it got too dark to ride. Felt lie an idiot.

Haha that sound like something I would do..I hate when I do that stuff..

Went to the lake one day with friends to ride and my ski would run but not right. I sat on the shore for hours trying to figure out the problem while they rode. It was the temp sensor on the 701. This was before I knew I could just cut it off and ride. Lol

Been there, Pnutt!!! Rode at Oside with Mark Gomez, got out to the ride spot and hydrolocked my ski on the first attempt at an aerial.

When I got my SN together a couple months ago I couldn't get it to run. Would try to fire but wouldn't run. I took the flame arrestor off to see if it was getting fuel only to see a paper towel in the carb that I forgot to take out. That's what happens when you get in a hurry.

This year at Daytona had me pissed a few times.
Day 1 - Bad solenoid - luckily I had seen the symptoms last year and brought a replacement, but still was not fun replacing in the parking lot.
Day 2 - broken tank strap. Jetmaniac had me covered.
Sunday - Gas station sold me a gallon of water with my gasoline. This took a while, thankfully my friend figured this one out.

I was lucky to have friends with parts and friends willing to help out. Without them it would have been a terrible first trip to Daytona.

This is funny. A month or so ago a friend asked me to come check his water line routing..He had recently re installed his motor from a rebuild..long story short the same thing happened. He hadn't installed one of the water lines on the mani, nor connected the starter cable..when we pulled the head pipe to get room to work, we discovered a towel in his manifold..how he missed it when installing the head pipe idk because it was sticking right out the top...would have taken forever to diagnose come start time..oh yeah, after we got it all back together and tried to test fire..the starter was bad..so it came right back apart..lol

Was ripping around the lake and I sucked up a rope. I was an easy 250 yards from shore, all by myself and very little boat traffic. I tried for what seemed like a half hour to untangle the rope but that bitch wasn't coming out. So I started swimming with my sj to shore and luckily a family was more than willing to help drag my worn out ass and sj on the beach. Afterwards, the dad said, "we saw you out there and figured you were just going for a swim. If I knew you were stranded I would've towed you in".

:unamused:

Buying W2 pump for Chan, realizing that holes on pump mounts are off .25" all around, having to re-drill them out, then realizing that the newly bought Thrust trim doesnt fit on that style pump (resulting in more spending)

Perfect now though ;) Patience is key I've learned with this build

How cheap has that proved to be so far??? :)

So far $900 for the ski
$600 in parts.

Probably another $500 to get it going. And a few hundred on top of that to get it back to a condition where Id be happy with it.

It's only worth 2.5k in good condition. So i keep telling myself at least I know it's condition. And all the internals are good. As opposed to an unknown runner

Finally getting my whole build put together after some problems along the way only to hit the start button to bump the motor and it does absolutely nothing! Now its time to start taking it back apart.
