So I did some work today..

Got everything drilled and mocked up on the dash- the fuel select, bilge switch, ratchet latch and primer. I hated having to put all that on the dash but it would suck to get stuck in the surf or whatever having to lift up my hood to prime the motor or switch to reserve.

What kind of rachet did you use? Is it stainless and how did you hook up the strap up front?

hey sorry DJ, with finals last week I didn't get on hee much.

I'm not sure what kind it is. I went to the hardware store and saw this one hanging up with a rubber or whatever handle on it and bought it. Then I just cut up my original latch and welded it to the bottom of the latch and there it is! Make sure to paint over the welds so it doesn't rust to all hell.

Well after a little less than 3-4 tanks of gas through ti I am still getting use to it and I LOVE IT!!! as light an nimble as an SJ could be and I can carve it as hard as the stock SXR hull.

The only thing that holds it back is rider skill at this point but I'm already pushing myself the best I can. Been trying some rolls and getting upside down pretty easily - I need the boats on the lake to start coming out so I can really go off.

Yesterday I went down to the Mississippi and was hitting some wind chop and tried a few backies. I had one high one (everyone said 8-10feet) that if I would have commited and my feet stayed in I would have landed or atleast nosed in!!!

This year is going to be a good year!!

Thanks Bobby and everyone that helped me get this going!!

so how is the setup holding up, im thinking about the xf, But is it worth it.

everything is holding up great! my only issue was losing my rideplate to the bottom of the lake! Nothing wrong with the construction - the screws backed out even with red locktight, AWESOME.

heres a vid so far that I have posted in another thread...

Every tuesday we ride tonka!! Bring her down :cool2:

I wanted to at the river but didn't wanna be that guy who sinks a ski that isn't his

I have to work Tuesdays unlike you slackers. I tweaked my carbs a bit on sunday and it seems to have really woken up on the midrange (even more!) and gained a little down low...I think there is still some more to be tweaked out of it :veryhappy: it hits pretty damn hard now.

Dude that sucks! Was it the stock plate or the trinity plate? I need to get a hood strap setup like yours. I lost my trinity hood already on the bottom of the lake I ride at. Still diving for it without any luck yet...... make sure you glue some foam to your hood. It might look like crap but at least if you drop it, it will float.
