My 2014 Superjet "build"

Well I wasn't going to make a "build" thread for two reasons
1: not sure it's a build being a new ski
2: I didn't think I'd be doing as much as I have to it this fast.

But I see others with 2014 builds and I figured what the hell it will be a good way for me to keep a record and look back on.

Bought my SJ on sept 4th around 6pm, and took it to the water and rode until sundown!

Took it out that weekend and rode all weekend burned through so many tanks. Hah. Broke my toe too.

Met up with some locals and rode for a little.

Then the mods began. I ordered a bilge bracket which I had trouble fitting but in the end bent it to work. Drilled my first hole in the side! Then one in the dashboard for the rotary switch.

I cut my ride plate down and also D cut it.

Put flame Arrestors on it at some point.

Did a pump cone

Blowsion finger throttle and UMI lock on grips

Other than that stuff that was it for a while.[/QUOTe

Can you provide information on cutting the skid plate? Length to be cut off, different riding experience etc.

Had a great weekend at wavedaze! Broke my battery box and exhaust hose, but had a blast!

I haven't been keeping up with this so here is a roundabout update.

Wavedaze caused me a few casualties, battery box, exhaust hose, and broke my trim ring again.

Got hooked up with a exhaust hose and a battery box by rad dudes. Only hose they had was a purple one.. And I wasn't happy with the battery box so I got a new one with a smaller battery.

I got new stainless spikes for my girdle kit, had to clearance the stock airbox some more, but looking good. And yes I keep stabbing my fingers on them. But it's not that bad. Haha.

Im not to sure what you mean about taking a pop can for a hole diameter, but I understand the cutting flush to hull. What is the use of the 2nd part?? Please clarify

Solid looking finger throttle. Is that thrust innovations (TI)?

How noticeable is the MSD?

I have to say, out of the entire build those hood straps just look terrible... It looks like you took a ratchet strap from your trailer when a stock part broke. Haha...

Thanks for posting so many photos.

Yes it's a Thrust throttle.

Didn't really notice the enhancer. But I'm overpowering my impeller with everything I have done.

The hood straps are the best way to secure the hood, all the parts suppliers sell the kits. It's a full stainless ratchet, it's bolted to the hull. If I didn't have the front foot hold I could run it with a hood latch, and I did prior to the new hood. But that wouldn't have worked on this new hood and I count get to the nuts to put the latch on this hood. So straps it is. My hood has a huge lip that sits very tight inside the hull. Adding strength and a seal. The straps hold it tight and I have no issues, and don't think it looks bad. A lot of AM hulls only use straps, but it's all preference

I'm at it again :) installing a new tube.. ...to be continued... ...stay tuned...

Also have some minor Turf issues I guess I'm going to be turfing every year... Because I can't bring myself to settle for black molded diamond.
