Good eye, for the record I have no problem with bob. They found a nitch in the market for budget riders wanting to flip. There hull is similar but does not resemble a xfs and rides completely different.

My 2 cents on design, the market shifts, angles, lines, no angles, less lines yada yada. AM hulls by nature will do/look similar because the ride style/ market demands. Not sure if he splashed the XFS (footholds look splashed haha) but every new builder can't be met with "you copied me" banter. Deal with the competition by staying ahead of the game and those with the $ will continue to buy your product.

aren't all aftermarket hulls based initially on sxr or sj bottom hull ? is yamaha or kawa calling it a splash ?
aren't carbon chambers based initially on FP chamber ? is FP calling it a splash ?
aren't all aftermarket carbs based initially on mikuni ? is mikuni calling it a splash ?
aren't all wsm or other brand parts based on oem ? is oem calling it a splash ?
etc... take any part on a ski and you will find a splash somewhere...

where do you start defining a splash ? is it a copy of an original part modified to make it look better ? to make it perform better ?
it can be anything as long as it sold under their name and not yours... that's what matters...
people will buy yamaha or kawasaki oem parts as they know the level of quality put into oem parts...
if they want cheaper they will go w..m, s..t, or whatever else that is cheap around there....

At the end, you can all fight in this thread... won't bring much... better spend the time riding...

ok the OP is going to sell a few of his products... on something that look like xfs... did he say they are rickter... not at all... he even let one of your rrp rider ride on it at the last european race... and he even made a subject over here... lol if his intention were to splash you will he have done that ??? or will he have done them in the garage hiding and selling them in the back of his truck at various race and events ?
splash will be if he was selling under the table as rickter... now they look what they look... whatever... they are called obsession not rickter...

and anyway the new ninja and evo are out... and that's all what buyers will want in the next coming month... the old xfs are gone of the game...
it's all about fashion... you need to get the latest... and bring new stuff to the market...
this year it's all about the revolver hull, the circus hull, the ninja, evo etc... the mini eme hull...

to rrp and thrust... you really do awesome products... keep on the good stuff coming... copy is the best form of success !

Easy to explain, Rickter was not the first to build a short hull, and RRP was not the first to build ajustable billet pole. They modified the basic idea to do they own.

Read post 164 they clearly said that they almost copy the billet pole too, take a look at it seriouly, the RRP pole is totally different design. The only same particularity is the 2 tude, outside of that the billet part look different to my eye.

Rickter is not the only one to have ajustable foothold, i can name fews.

Does Honda is the only company to build hybrid car ?? no. Does Toyota, mazda or ford claim they copy them ?? No.

Kawasaki was the first to build a short hull, regrettably they did not have the foresight to put a decent size motor or pump in it, that's where I came in at, I did have the foresight to do exactly that, I can without a doubt say that I had one of first super short freestyle skis and was repeatedly mocked for even considering such a thing at the time. Check the thread date, if someone elses predates that one I have no knowledge of it. So all you haters are just imitators, won't the real Slim shady please stand up, please stand up !

The rickter life is that. They always said that someone copied their stuff, that they made it first. What a teenage game !!!

They have said the same with the BOB. They said BOB have copied the XFS. hahahaha weird because the G1 was on the market and nobody had an XFS yet.

I have check this built thread since a while and it easy to say that the hull is different just by the picture.

It's all a little friendly competition, and its healthy for businesses. Competing with RRP-Rickter helps to push us harder on our development and products, and I'm sure they feel the same about many of their competitors on the market today. We have no hard feelings with RRP-Rickter, we actually try to maintain a decent relationship with them. This industry is too small to have large manufactures at each others throats 24/7.

So far this year, we've actually purchased and used about 22 sets of RRP poles, steering and bars (at $1,170 per set, thats $25,740 worth or RRP's products we've promoted and put into the market so far this year, with 4 more months to go). Again, we have no hard feelings towards RRP-Rickter, and I would assume that with the kind of business they're getting from us, that the feelings would be mutual. Lets try not to turn this into a BOB vs RRP conversation :brap:

Ok guys , Here i am .It is funny to read al the haters and lovers posts . I had this built going for more then 1,5 years, and it started as a projekt for myself only . After a lot of questions about my projekt, from different people from europe about selling one to them , i desided to put a price tag on it . And as i did, the hell breaks lose !!! I did not start this projekt to make a competition with the other hull builders who want to make a living of it !! What i do not understand is al the that is going on here !! I did make the bottomdeck and the topdeck myself , as you could see from the first pics i posted almost 1,5 years ago .
The bottom deck is custom made by myself , and for the topdeck it is the same !! When you make a topdeck this high ,and with a small hood , You need those square lines to make the topdeck stronger. And in doing so, you always have think how to get it out of the mold. And when i saw the Xfs for real, for the first time a few weeks ago , i saw that my ski was a lot different than the xfs . And now some of you guys say that i copied it ???? Only because some lines on the side of the topdeck ??? and adjustable footholds ??? I have seen builds on here that are nothing more than a bottomdeck from a superjet ,made a little shorter and wider and the topdeck from an sxr shorter and lower (but stil the same lines ) and these hulls are also available to the market !!! I think these are copies of already existing hull's !!!
In the end i now that i can not please everybody with my built , and i am fine with that . I also don't think there will be a obsession hull in the states because of the shipping . If someone wants an Xfs he will buy an Xfs and not a cheap "knock off " like my built is !!!!! lol

No, because they almost all stated it is based on either sxr or superjet or whatever. not claiming they woke up one morning and decided to build a boat that they dreamed about one night that in the end looks identical to something they supposedly have never seen. all everyone is saying is to just put credit where it is due.

View attachment 193779here some last info on the hull , in the film it is liam mellot riding the obsession with the stock 701 with only a b-pipe .
he rode it for about 5 min and he normaly rides his xfs . he said the obsession felt very stable and almost felt the same as the xfs .
i have a lot of interest about the hull so i will sell these for 2500 euro in white gel coat finish , the weight of this hull is 88 lbs and 9,9 lbs for the hood .
the footholds are adjustable for 5 inch.
the billet pole + bracket is 650 euro .
