My situation with Mark @ Full Throttle/ 24-7

Ok here is the whole long story (from my side) I bought a ski off of the boards here with a TNT motor built by Mark which is now Full Throttle/ 24-7. I was an almost new motor with about 5 hours on it. When I got the motor I took the head off and checked it out and the pistons were still clean gapped good and everything I knew to check. So I done a squish test and that was fine. Leak down test that was also great. Everything checked out.

I put the ski together and rode it a few times. Maybe 3 or 4 tanks of fuel at the most. And I sheered a flywheel key at the Ozarks ride. When I was lapping the flywheel on the crank the next week I noticed a strange sound like there was play in the crank. Anyhow I took it apart and the PTO rod didn't have a bearing carrier in it. Just the bearings which would roll to the bottom of the rod and that is where the slop was coming from.

So the last week of June I sent Mark my motor. I guess he received it by the first week of July. He called me with a quote and some options. I was going to go ahead and get the crank rebuilt and moved to a 6mm along with new domes to lower compression and new pistons because of the motor eating the bearing carrier.

Anyhow about the first week of August I started calling to see what was going on and he didn't answer. I called daily for weeks. Then after many attempts he finally answers and tells me that Crankworks was backed up and they didn't have the crank done yet. So about the middle of September I called Crankworks and they hadn't heard of him nor have they done any work for him. SO I keep calling to see what is up. Mostly 2 times a day hoping to get an answer. Somewhere around here I start leaving messages to just send my motor back like it is and I will take care of it.

Finally I get a hold of his dad and he makes him call me. This is about the 11th of October and Mark says that he sent me an email that morning the motor is done. I can't check email during the day so I tell him to call me when he gets to the shop and I know what the bill will be and I will give him my Credit card info. I call his dad later that evening and he has Mark call me. Mark takes my info and says I will get a tracking number tonight (oct 17)or tomorrow the 18th at the latest. I ask who done the crank since crankworks didn't have anything of his nor have they heard of him. He said "I sent it to crankworks and they were backed up so I had them send it back and I sent it to Jetworks". I took that as feasable and expected a tracking number. So since I didn't receive a tracking number I called Jetworks. Art said "I haven't done anything for him since March. But he called last week maybe Tuesday or Wednesday (16 or 17th) for a quote on a 5mm crank rebuild and said that he would send it over". As of the 25th they still don't have a crank from Mark

So now he is officially lying. I called him and stated that I didn't get my tracking number and I also called Jetworks and what they told me. I told him that if he dropped the ball that was fine but don't try to lie about and say that it is done when you won't get me a tracking number and Art hasn't done any work like that nor has he talked to you except for a quote.

Mark charged $745 on my credit card on the 17th but still won't answer a call so that I can get any information or a tracking number. So I called this week and contested the bill on my credit card and I am filling a complaint with the attorney general. At the present time I just want to get my parts back as they were. If it is completed that is fine I don't have a problem paying for what it done. But if not send my parts back and I will be out of your hair.

I know that this write up is long but 4 months is too long to take to rebuild a motor.

This guy needs a :chairshot:

He has taken speedfreak from us all riding season I had to watch speedfreak ride around on a Polaris couch while the rest of us enjoyed our summer. Why do a lot of the people in the PWC business act like used car sales men damn shysters?

That sounds a little bit like my problems getting my cylinders back. he keeps making up lies or excuses when you confront him about things that he has.you have way more room than i do to have a complaint cause of the price of your parts but that fact that their is someone doin things like this in the industry is terrible.

I hate the fact that you have to post something like this in public to get problems resolved. But the only time he responds to my emails is after a post on the boards or a call to his dad. I have given him a TON of time to answer phone calls and emails with no results. I feel that I have been more than patient.

His email to me today at 8am says that he will send me my parts back and refund my money minus the shipping if that is what I want. I told him to mail it back. And I will have Art at Jetworks ship me the crank back directly. So we will see what happens.

so he told you that the motor was finished and ready to send out now hes sending you parts back? it just seems like the same story over and over.doesnt answer the phone, when you do get ahold of him he lies what is he doin?
If hes that busy hire someone to answer the phone let people know whats goin on.customer service will go a long way.I do believe he has the ability to produce a great product and can so hopefuly he can resolve the issues and get pointed in the right direction and come out clean with a sucessful business for the sake of the sport

why do people keep dealing with people like this, there are a lot of good people out there who do good work. just leave these flakes alone and maybe they will go away. just my 2 cents.

Don't think twice about posting this publicly. I've only been seriously into watercraft for about 18months and I know, seen, and experenced alot of bull******** in this industry. There are alot of mom and pop shops that really havent the clue about customer service and yet because this sport is so close-nit, people will keep their mouths shut about it. The only way to fix this problem is to hit the companies with a bad rap. Make them work FOR the customer instead of you working to just get your stuff back.

Well his email that I received on the 26th. Said that he would mail my parts back "TODAY" if I wanted.... My reply was to send me a tracking number when the parts are sent back that I would get the crank directly from jetworks.

Here it is the close of business on the 29th still no tracking number. Who ever gets a hold of him when I post something let him know that I want my stuff back yesterday....... He must have an allergic reaction to the phone because he won't touch it when I call

I haven't tried this week yet but I even tried blocking my number and calling. I even called from a different area code and he didn't pick up.......

Which is kinda sickening for someone to have to call from a different phone number or block a number to get a business to pick up...

wow, i'd have loaned you my motor JR, i didn't know you were down??? i need to keep in better touch......

Thanks anyhow but I just bought a motor so I can at least ride... ..

UPDATE... I recieved my package that Pete got mailed out....Thanks Pete. I need my crank now.....

Lets start at the top... I needed a hone, the crank rebuilt, cases roughed up a bit where the crank rubbed the case, 1 pistons, (I sent him the good one also but I didn't get back) And 1 dome was messed up. But I was going to get 2 new domes recut to lower my compression...

Here is the email I received on the 26th from Mark .... I never told you the crank was done it was shipped out on monday if you want the rest of your stuff i will ship it out today to you the cylinder is done the ck case repaired. You just paid me for the parts for the motor.

$745 for what???? anyhow... In 4 months he accomplished NOTHING. I received my cylinder which needs a hone, no pistons, a bag of bolts with corrosion still on the threads, and a head with a messed up dome.

The crank is still missing in action... I called Crankworks and Jetworks and no one has seen anything from him.

I am posting this over at PWCToday also so that people know what kind of person they will be dealing with.

Buyer beware everyone needs to watch out for this guy... I don't think I would send him any business even if I had invested money there.
