Custom/Hybrid my stunt hull build

I still to this day don't understand why people would cut out the padding where your feet go and have thicker padding where your feet won't even be at...

what is the point??? unless you like the looks, which still makes no sense cause who cares what your tray looks like...

cause id rather have less padding and be able to put my feet in the footholds??? there's no way they would fit with the thick underpad.

got ya...

I usually taper the padding into the hold and leave the heals full thickness if the holds are too small... that way you have protection from braking a heal bone

Looks really good. I know a lot of people say that cutting the padding out is a terrible idea and I kind of agree but I have learned a few things. I personally HAVE TO shaev some of the padding off even if the holds are large enough. If I don't, my feet will slip all the time. I have to have some kind of ridge behind my heel to help keep me planted.

btw - I'm jealous. I wanted to be the first one to pop out a freshly painted ski with turf.

thanks
so I've got to install these dual scuppers and I'm wondering what you guys recommend for getting them tostay in place and not fall out while riding. I've got 5200 but I don't trust that. What about jbweld? Any other ideas? Since it's an open hull there is no pvc to attack them too. So the only spot to mount them is just that lip on the scupper

JB weld has a higher shear strength than 5200 but it's rigid. Since it's rigid, that means that it will be more likely to pull away from the hull as it flexes over time. 5200 is a bit softer and will flex with the hull as needed. I've used JB weld multiple times on bilge pumps with no luck. Maybe 4-5 rides and it's done. Used 4200 which is weaker than 5200 last year and it lasted all season until I accidentally bashed the bilge pump knocking it off.

These are what I'm planning on using. They're $9 a piece and have a 1-1/2" internal opening/2" outer opening. The one on the left is original and the one on the right is after I cut it down. I will probably have to ghetto rig some kind of wrench to get all the way back in the hull to tighten it but I'll cross that road when I get there.

yea I was thinking about gettin scuppers like that but I've already got the xmetal ones so I've gotta figure out a good way to mount them.

Now that it's turfed, do you think the footholds will work well? They look a little small and shallow but it could just be the light and they go a lot deeper than I can see.
