Custom/Hybrid my stunt hull build

got the pump and ride plate in. had to grind down the rideplate some to get it to fit, and it hits the pump a little so i had to adjust that a little bit. also had to cut off the spot where the original steering cable mounts to on the pump and move it in because the original spot hits the rideplate. also got the motor test fit in and everything seems to line up good, just gotta get my exhaust so i can figure out what im doing with that, and get my pole bracket so i can get that mounted up

Looking good man... Looks like we might be able to fill up the tanks without doing anything funky.

By the time I actually get my hull, everyone will have seen everything they wanted and my build will be worthless. How depressing.

lol sorry man. and im not sure about the gastank fill up, are you using the same tank as me? it's not where its going to be in that pic, it may be back further so might have to just use a longer tube or something on the gas can. but there really is alot of room in there once you've got everything in there.

Yeah the external fill is what I figured I would have to do and I've been trying to figure out how I'm going to clamp a hose to the fill spout on the kart tanks without it leaking. I will admit that taking the hood off while I gas up is a very good thing since it forces me to look at various things while I wait for the gas which helps find the little gremlins before they become a problem... Guess I should be doing that anyway though.

Anyway, did you buy that one pipe Chips?

Chips, what do you plan on doing on the a$$ end in your second picture to finish it out.The area where the hull meets the deck.Been looking at mine trying to figure a way to make it look smooth and finished.

that back end looks sharp.. could you wrap the turf around it to smooth it a little

i like the lines on the side of the ski how the rail starts at the front and is integrated into the rear

Yea,wraping it in turf would work.Probably keep a rider from rubbing up against a rough surface.

Probably a little late to wrap it now. I was thinking you'd overlapped the foam and turf enough that you shouldn't slice your shins open but unfortunately it does look like it'll peel in no time. Maybe if you sanded about an inch of the turf smooth in the back and either overlapped more turf or used some kind of rubber, you could still make it look good. Don't know if that's clear or not.

I overlapped my SN when I cut the bond line off. Some of it stayed and some of it peeled off the first ride. So it can be successful.

Maybe if you wrap it, use a thin piece of aluminum strap on the bottom and rivet from the top through to the aluminum strap? Just food for thought. Might be less painful than a full piece of mounted trim covering the whole back lip. Or maybe install some threaded inserts from the top and the same aluminum strap on the bottom. Then wrap the turf, covering the inserts on the top, and sandwich the turf with the strap and run screws through the strap / turf into the inserts, from the bottom?
