Maiden Voyage was today and I would say very successful...still have some adjusting to do with the flow control valve and pipe screws but overall very impressed with the power potential of this driveline. Hull handles incredibly well...will carve when you want it to, turns on a time, but also is very flickable/jumpy

One thing that surprised me was how fast the nose came up. After having the Q8 i thought that this would be the same, but in my opinion i saw a noticeable difference not that its a bad thing, just have to lean out over the front on landings

I had a chance to ride this ski today, I was very impressed with the power, great low end pop! You did a great job putting this together Bobby, well done! I thought it hit just as hard as my 900 (I got some tweaking to do) lol

Man, wish I had mine finished. I got mine running Friday just waiting on a couple parts to button the last things up. Bobby shoot me your number again, I'm riding this weekend.

What's your guess on what the water temp was and what gear did you need to tolerate it ?

XS waterbox sound vs flowbox ?

water temp i would guess to be around 50 degrees. Air temp was low 70s. I had a full wetsuit on with wrestling shoes and gloves. I was very comfortable.

Waterbox's i would say sound pretty similar. Great sound, throaty, not loud and annoying. Maybe swannysxr will chime in here and share his thoughts.

The waterbox sounds awesome, deep, throaty tone, very similar to the new gen Xmetal. Fits nicer if your tight on space.Box is not too loud to piss off neighbors.

Big time update.....finally broke down and made a big purchase in the XSCREAM 865 motor (Currently on first bore 828cc).

Big thanks to Steve (Aquaholic) for a great transaction. He has constantly tried to keep in touch to make sure I was happy with everything.

Also a huge thanks goes out to Swannysxr for staying up late with me to install the new wrist pin bearings as well as transfer the total loss to the motor.

Lastly, Rick at XSCREAM was great with this whole situation. Over the past couple years, I have seen how XSCREAM has treated my buddy Roo and I knew I would look no where else when it came to upgrade my motor setup. Some companies would have told me to get lost when I didnt buy the motor directly from them, but Rick and the crew answered every question I had as well as provided more than enough info to get me setup on the motor. I was blown away by this customer service and I will definatly work with them even more in the future.

Here are some pics...

The setup was pretty rushed together as I was trying to get the motor dropped in so that I could ride in the Roar on the River over the weekend. Goal was to test friday night, then ride saturday at the event. Successful, but with some flaws.

First bump in the road was that I had to overnight a boyesen intake manifold as my R&D intake setup would not work with the case modification that was done to the motor. Little dent in the checking account but no big deal...gotta pay to play

Friday I came straight home from work, installed the new intake manifold and then reassembled the hull. I was blown away with how on the jetting was from XSCREAM...this thing ripped right out of the box. The only problem was that dummy me didnt install the bpipe coupler just right....just as I started to ride harder, i blew the exhaust chamber right off the coupler.

Saturday...I reassembled the exhaust system. Cleaned each part as well as put on a brand new coupler. We packed out and headed to trenton. Got on the ski and it ran well. But as the day went on...my rushed build started to bring out some flaws. Had a spark plug come loose as well as had some fuel lines leak fuel because they were not secured on correctly.

Had some people ride the setup and a common remark was that it seemed the prop was not right. I was running a skat 14/19

Sunday...went to ride the ski and it never felt right...brought it in to check it out and the exhaust manifold was leaking. Woof....

Therefore, this past week I have pulled everything back out and reassembled.

I dropped in a hooker 10/16 and addressed the manifold issue. Should water test friday.
