you act like the water wasnt in there when they brought the ski back to you.

How do you think it got in there then?

osmosis while sitting on the stand in your garage?

WRONG! anyhow saw him swimming it in and i came back in about 3mins later... after picking someone up on the tube... and the rest you allready know.... so who thinks he should pay? and how much if any?

if he were a good guy, he would have offered to pay or at least help or something.

if it was simply an acquantance of your sister, then good luck with that one.

there is no telling what that poor ski went thru before it popped, it almost makes me tear up a little.

poor thing.

Check in suspect areas for rocks or silt that water usually brings in with it. If the water was up high, you may see it on the bondline, etc. This may be a tell tale sign whether the ski was under water. Is there any water in the bottom of the case? I'm just trying to figure out how it rusted up so fast?

Doug

Edit: Just reread and you said there's water in the case. Either way, it sucks a fat one to have to rebuild a motor of that magnitude.

he posted pics that showed the case is full of water. maybe its in his carnage thread.

I checked the carnage section. That's where they're at. Did the kid run it with or without a lanyard? Is it zip tied? If it has a lanyard, could it have slipped off his wrist or jacket and still kept the ski running? Maybe he fell, ski goes one way, he goes the other. The ski goes on it's side, sucks up a ton of water with those open element filters, ski dies. Kid swims back, tries to start it, rod could already be bent at this point. He swims it back in, damage is already done. You ask what did you do? He says I didn't do anything... in fact, he may have done nothing out of ordinary.

Just a scenario.

OK....

what to do next...

thers still alot of water in the crank case.. should i tip the ski over and try and drain it our.. or at this point it doesent matter???

second i'm going to be sending the motor into paul, my question is how do i unbolt the engine mounts??? there are 3 screws 2 lower bolting to the bottom of teh hull and 1 main going through the center...
my question come when i was loosening the main bolt, the rubber around it was torking alot... was afriend if i did wrenched any harder it would snap the engine mount... Will it? or is this normal?

Second main problem is my prop still spins freely on the pump shaft.... WTF...

it doesnt matter at this point.

take it out, apart, dump it, vacum it, squeegie it.

whatever.

get it out, get it all cleaned up and boxed up, and get it on its way to Paul.
