that stings a little. ( edited to be nice.... it said jackass earlier)

we are only trying to help, and the last bit about removing more stuff than neccessary, dude, he asked 3 times about the spark plugs?!!!!

jeeze.

try to help someone, spend on and off time for the better part of an afternoon, look at the pics, make our best guesses...

and all of the sudden there is a godamned expert in the group who never had the time to speak up before.

fawk my leg hurts.

I hope you get it worked out Grif.

I am all for learning to work on your stuff yourself........... But, from what I gathered, I was afraid he was going to tear something up, like Taking a hammer to the bendix and end up cracking that Jetnetics Alum. Flywheel or other delicate parts.............. I have been there, destroyed a set of cases trying to remove a broken bolt, sometimes you need to step back, and get help............

Glad he found the problem....................... Sucks, did that myself 2 years ago.............

i think he responded the way he did because he took your post as saying that grif wasnt getting help on here, so PM someone who knows what theyre doing.

i assume that what you were trying to say was to bring the ski to someone that knows what theyre doing.... not just 'talk' with someone who knows what theyre doing.:dunno:

Look at it this way.

He could have paid a local "mechanic" a few hundred dollars to find out what he did last night.

BUt instead, he learned, utilized his resources, and tore it apart.

Nothing that is on or in a ski is rocket science, its all pretty basic, they are really fairly simple machines.

knowledge is secondary, having the gumption to tear it apart is more important.

Now his curiousity and pocket book will determine how much more he learns.

OK....

what to do next...

thers still alot of water in the crank case.. should i tip the ski over and try and drain it our.. or at this point it doesent matter???

second i'm going to be sending the motor into paul, my question is how do i unbolt the engine mounts??? there are 3 screws 2 lower bolting to the bottom of teh hull and 1 main going through the center...
my question come when i was loosening the main bolt, the rubber around it was torking alot... was afriend if i did wrenched any harder it would snap the engine mount... Will it? or is this normal?

Second main problem is my prop still spins freely on the pump shaft.... WTF...
see video

Prop video: YouTube - prop

thanks guys for all the help

remove the center bolts on the mounts. if the rubber tears - great! you didnt want to use that mount anyway.

so, take the engine out, tip it over and spray an assload of wd40 in there to stop any further rusting.

dont forget to undo the throttle cable at the carbs like i always do.

will the prop come off? its either unthreaded or the threads are toast on the prop or shaft.... btw, the impeller is a reverse thread on the shaft.

I cant beleive you just posted a video of playing with your shaft.

can you just slide the impeller off of the shaft?

its stripped or something.

your boat is fawked.

make your 'freind' pay.

remove the engine, those center bolts that go straight into the rubber are the only ones you need to bother with now.

take the bottom half out, dump the water out.
turn it over and unbolt the case halves.

Lesson #1-water don't take to kindly to compression :frown:

There are still a few obvious questions left unanswered.
How did all that water get in there in the first place?? Nobody knew there was water in it when he got back to shore and it would not turn over? Nobody thought to take the plugs out and spin it over?
Nothing that can't be fixed on that cyl unless the sleeve is cracked. No need to sell it.
Where's that smart german, Jens? doesn't he ride in the same area also?

They sank that sombitch and did not tell ya.
With friends like that, you don't need any enemies. :banghead:
those relays usually don't just go out for no reason. I wonder if your original relay was really bad.

it probably burned up from the LRA of the starter. who knows how many times they tried starting it.... and for how long. it doesnt take a whole lotta heat to fry a coil wire.
