I highly doubt what you saw in the clip I posted on Bryces Facebook was a display of "full throttle" for the new SXR.

Did you expect them to be small? I had an 08 for 4 years and that thing was a tank!

I don't expect anything, just an observation. What reason do the guys in the video have to not go WOT? I'm not saying that was top speed but I would say they where likely wide open coming out of that corner.

Could have been some techs kids playing around or a couple of soon to be dealers trying them out for the first time.

Its great to see Kawasaki back in the standup game regardless of what it is (although 4-stroke is really their only option due to EPA). Last I heard is that the "Jet Ski" division was really hurting when compared to Yami & Sea-Doo. I am sure their will be plenty of "hop ups" which will easily wake it up for the non-average rider (turbo, ecu, etc). Obviously its not going to be a surf ski - so bigger/longer is not a bad thing for the racers (I think the ProForce is bigger than a SXR?)

Anyway I am stoked to see this. Never thought I would see the day. I am surprised they are running it around body beach. There has to be a TON of people out there that have eyes on it. Not a very good place to keep it hidden

If you look at the riders and get a scale on them, then compare to the ski, I dont think it is as big as it appears. The black bottom and white top also makes it look off and hard to get a good feel for size. Definitely not WOT in that video. That video was meant to be published. They not going to show everything. If any of you have ridden a 15F, they are no joke when it comes to power.

That 15F motor is no joke in size either. I parted out a 12F and it sat almost 24" from top to bottom. I shipped the crank to Russia at a weight of something like 75 lbs, (crate was less than 10lbs of that).

More curious what it will do to the used ski market as the price of used sxr have been continuously rising since they went out of production.

And what it will do to racing. Maybe with the removal of "competition use only" etc the events will come back?

No reason for skis to cost 10k+. It seadoo can sell a spark for 5k, no reason a Superjet should cost $8k or a sxr cost 10k.

They could keep the cost up if they only produce a limited quantity.

Does watercraft racing have the same ruling as other motor sports that they have to sell a certain amount of public units for it to be allowed in the "stock" category?

Yes they do have that rule
