Although it doesn't appeal to myself, it is different and thinking outside the box and could be the start of a resurgence of the stand up scene to the general public, getting people more exposed and introduced to our world.
It makes sense to me though that they wouldn't try and compete in the freeride scene, there are already a tonne of options saturating the market so why would they throw another ski in there that doesn't have the same aftermarket support as the Yamis do.
The ski they created will likely dominate a race course and that's where they want it to be...easy for the public to ride and dominate the race course seems like a win win for them. Racers are always looking for the edge to win and a lot will likely buy one, plus it's motor is familiar to a lot of the aftermarket making upgrading easy.
I think it will do well and hopefully open the door to more Innovation to come in the fourstroke scene.
