Any performance updates/reviews on this pipe?

Because a Ported 701 with a B-pipe is more then enough for a surf boat.

If you realy think you need more add a lightened flywheel, MSD enhancer, dual 44's and V-force reeds.

People thinking they need 130+ hp in a surf boat are nutz.... good luck surf riding with anything more then a well built, ported 720cc. Hell even Malone prefer's his 800cc in the surf.... the 1000cc is just way too much.

I agree. The XFT/stroker is WAY too much for anything other than nice glass surf. It's fun, but it's work to ride it. Even the superstock can be a bit touchy.

I can imagine, there you have a bazillion hp, and the benifits of a light weight hull. The Power to weight must make that boat hard to hold on too!

Hell I have had to learn a great deal of throttle control on my setup to ride surf the way i like.

Too much power makes alot of people look like squids when they hit the surf.... unless there just flipping or doing roles.

I will be that guy at Wavedaze and Daytona this year. The throttle on my ski is way too touchy for my skiiiiiiiiiiilz. :wavey:

The ocean riders aren't going to be concerned with $1400 pipes and 1000cc motors, either.

Well, most of them.

well that depends on how serious your surf group is and how much $ you dont mind spending to have a RELIABLE big power surf boat. I see a pipe that makes great power as being THE most reliable way to make power in a surf boat without having to do alot of the other crap to get there that isnt so reliable. Its all about throttle control, small glassy east coast summer surf 90% of the time and POWER go very well together.what would otherwise be a boring day could be alot more fun

If your one of those lamers that only rides 2 times a month when the surf is big, maybe this aint for ya

Says the west coast perfect wave rider.......shiz I bet If I had surf like that to ride I could get by on 90 hp . Where is your boat power wise with the lpw and full spec connect ? compared to say the old JK setups or ross in his current setup?

about the same..jk ran a bb 760 with a single carb and ross has the same i think so a little more i guess

JK had two setups, one was a milder setup by RIVA, the other was a full on mod motor by JSU. Use each for different conditions. It not always about the power, it is how you use the power to your advantage.

In racing, I would much rather have a milder powered ski in a surf race vs having a full on limited or S.S. You can do more with it. Same goes for Freestyle, I prefer power that is more manageable than one of the Monster Lamey Motors or even a X Base Flattop strokers. Power does not make you any better if you can not harness it.

Note I said "most".

Also keep in mind that I am used to Oregon/Washington surf.

but you'd still want one of those faggy trim systems :soapbox::wiggle:

IMO thats perfect.... 760ish CC's with a 48mm intake/exhaust and a bit of compression..

sugar on top is a nice port job

A SJ with trim is a SJ with trim,no matter who is riding it.If the best of the best feel it helps them with control,it certainly aint gonna hurt us learning:highhorse:
