New Impros Hooker Impeller for Yamaha

We've been working on a new impeller for our Freestyle riders on a Yamaha SJ and Blaster and came up with this one.

We call her the "Hooker" because she "hooks up" so well.
Designed around maximizing pump efficiency and bottom end, this is a new radial edge design, large hub (75mm), and is set back 7mm (4mm further than we can go with a small hub impeller).
Pitch options are:
9/15 (for anything from a stock 701 to a strong limited set up)
10/16 (for the more healthy version of a limited with porting, big carbs, etc)
11/17 (for maximum hook up and added HP)

Here's a couple amateur shots by me of the new Hooker...

Designed with a nice steep root angle to load the pump well. Some might say they sound too low and may spin, or burn outta the hole, but the other geometric changes made to the Hooker reduce the chance of spinning.

They are designed for Freestyle, and Freeriding, although some of our riders are using them for closed course racing as well with great results. To give you an idea of the load on the engine, the 9/15 loads similar to the custom Solas 13/15 that we do. Further set-back increases the pump efficiency, along with the larger hub and blade length. I'm really happy with how this impeller works compared to the other popular repitched versions that have become so popular. Don't get me wrong, they work excellent, this one just works better, and gives the ski more "pop".

Retail price is $249.99, and comes with an impeller tool and nose seal.

looks/sounds sweet... need any more test subjects? :wavey:

I'll definately put this at the top of my list when it comes time to change my impeller this summer.

Dave... I just sent in my impeller to be re conditioned... but now since I see that you take trades, I might see what this hooker is all about.

Make sure you call me after it gets here and remind me what you're thinking about doing. Our turnaround time has been 1-2 days, so it would be best to try to catch it while it's here...
Thanks

IM curious about that too ^^^^

also, how do the pitches correlate to a solas concord 13/16?

I still like my 12/15 you made me a few years back, pitch wise, I guess that would be similar to the 9/15 hooker?

can you pitch them any lower than 9/15 or is it even needed?

Hey guys,
We're not a foundry, so we're having them investment cast to our specifications. Blade length, pitch, positioning in the pump is all done in the manufacturing process rather than altering one after the fact, and specific to what we determined after relentless testing against our most popular Yamaha impellers. I'm very happy with how they're working. We still sell the popular Skats and Solas Yamaha impellers, but I do like these better in almost all cases.

If you like the 12/15, the 9/15 will produce better "pop", and load the pump better. It's set back further, and the pitch and hub design give it a much better, responsive feel.
The 13/16 Concord or Freeride is similar in load to the 10/16 Hooker.

We can go lower than the 9/15, but we kept it here, becuase it's a great pitch for even a stock 701.

Thanks
David
