Ok gotta give Keefer some serious props...

i was getting sparks through both plugs so i ruled 100% out the eleterical system, if he dident keep nagging me to check between the spark plug caps, i would have pulled the carb and then motor...:banghead:

So i go doen this morning and get new BR8ES, install them and check the plugs for a closed circut.. I was shocked that it was an open circut off the start b4 i even wiggled any wires around... Somehow one of the plugs were not getting a strong connection at the coil... but every once in awile it would trigger.. which was throughing me off.. ruleing out the electrical system...

normally, you would just check the caps without the plugs in them. but, if you have continuity with the plugs in, there will be continuity with the plugs out.

just curious, when you checked the plugs, were the plugs laying on the head and where exactly did you test ON the plugs?

i would just go cap to cap to aleiviate the possibility that you checked your continuity through ground.

No i dod not check through continuity with the plugs attached to the boots...

I check with both boots off.. it was an open circut so i pulled the coil and the cables from the coil and checked each cable seperatly.. and they checked out..

then i install the good cable and check from the boot to the open hole in the coil.. and the same thing with the "bad" side.

what i ended up doing is taking a razor and scraping off ALL the caked up expoxy which allowed the plug to go a few more mm into the coil and it checked out!!!



I had my ski for a month now, by fixing this problem.. (which the cable was wiggleing more and more out from the coil) i have what feels like 30%-40% more power!!!!!! which is a hell of alot considering the mods.. its hard for me to hold on to this thing....

it was so powerfull i have this drive up ramp connected to my dock, (so my ski can sit on the floating part) so i can get the ski out of the water w/o using a lift or Cart... i go to drive up on it, hit the throddle like normal and i launch up onto and up over the dock, ending up back into the water.... BTW i was scared ********less....


i'm almost scared to ride this thing now....
