lets do something... I think it will be a solid mod.

I agree, filling the nose with foam and sculpting is cool to get your own shape but if somebody could do a little shape testing and find something that works then build a piece that is strong and able to be glassed on I think that would be the ticket for surf riders on a budget.
The rickter is essentially that, a superjet bottom that is modified up front am I right?

you need to post a pic of carters ski to illustrate what you are saying.......

I think it is very much a sj bottom w/ some mods to the rear and nose

if yall build a piece and it tests out good, i would be very interested in it. im just saying i think this could sell.

yamaslut, you say winter riding... it gets way to cold up here to be in the surf. i may just have to take a trip down south and see what its all about. who knows i may get addicted to the surf, which will probably happen. im getting tired of flat water.

A piece like what Berky is doing on his hulls that glasses on to a stock hull, I think, would outsell conversion hoods. Maybe add a small recessed area for a bow loop and a small kickout for a splash guard (or bolt on splash guard like the Matrix).

i pictured the rocker pushed up a little more like carters boat and glassed to the top deck. personally i like the sharp edge of the trinity hull, but it would look good either way, and maybe more functional smoothed out.

It's fine in Daytona all year round... water temp are in the 60-70F most of the fall and winter

Probably stronger if it was rounded out, and it would look better on a RN to have a round nose, IMO.

My SXR dove like a whale turd...with my -2 in the back on the Trinity EVO, the nose stays up riding down a face (I'm sure the weight loss had something to do with that too), but it's a whole different ski..

I would love to do this to the nose of my Trinity down the road. (or send it to Bobby to do it for me!)

i have no problem whatsoever with spray from my nose. i think a splash guard on the nose is trouble (for me at least) because it WILL get rubbed, smashed, wacked by the ground in surf! and likely cause cracking. same with a bow eye (stainless) added right there,,,its just gonna help rip a hole in your nose. (i still dont have any tow loops yet.....dumb)
Ive stuffed my ski into the ground at least 10 times in the past 4-5 rides from backies, stabs, and re-entries trying to see how strong 2-3 layers of 12 oz biax is ,,,,,and all is good on the nose!!! my rear -4 has been patched up three times though :( in those 5 rides!
i got another hack job hull thats going to be similar but more rocker front middle and rear :) maybe ill get the camera out

YES! we dont get much big surf here. the smaller the surf the more a stock ski feels like a board. the rocker helps carve and slash in all types of water and helps initiate more POP on small surf or setup

Hell, I remember at the Daytona 2006 ride, the water was warmer than the air. You went riding to warm up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Perfect climate for year round riding.

i just hope the fudgin oil doesnt make it to daytona. its starting to show up in panama city beach, it the single most depressing thing about being so far from home.
