Gotta have one in the back under the coupler near near mid shaft, some put 2 back there. The "front" would be in front of motor. But typically, the water in the bilge area will flow to the rear of the ski.
I just did 1 500gph in the fx-1 and kept the stock siphon bilge. There's a couple of pics of where I glued it. I used JB Marine weld and roughed it up good. Been bouncing around in surf in the gulf and Daytona as well as boat chasing, and it will not move.
There is a lot more room on other skis it seems.
