There is no conceivable way that you actually believe this is the reason Lanier does not want us. Do you not think the drinking and late night noise could have something to do with it. After several years in the same "dry" campground people still insist on drinking. It's not like the drinkers don't know it isn't allowed. If you CHOOSE to attend an event at a non drinking location you should expect to abide by the rules. There was a whole thread last year on the midnight belly flop contest and colored tequila shots. I like a drunken midnight belly flop contest as much as the next guy, but maybe a dry, family campground with a lights out time of 10 P.M. isn't the place for it. I can't imagine that a family campground would see this as something they want on their premises. If you remember, there were many comments about how important it was to make sure that the new location this year be drunk friendly. Maybe we should ask why EXACTLY we want to grow the "sport". Unless you stand to make money from the growth of the "sport", why exactly is it so important. In my eyes, the growth of the "sport" simply means that there may soon be more locations where PWC are likely to be banned. How anyone could believe 300 loud, noisy, smoking stand up jetskis in one location is a wise thing for the longevity of the "sport" is beyond me. I certainly wouldn't want it on my home waters. It draws attention and there are plenty of those among us who routinely do things that we wouldn't want scrutinized. We're like a little bike week without the substantial economic benefits. I know this isn't a popular point of view, but I ought to be able to speak my mind all the same. Before setting me on fire, take a minute to ask yourself what precisely do you hope to achieve for the betterment of the "sport". I thought this was just a site where people who had common interests could come and hang out and enjoy discussion about what we love to do. The X has become what PWCToday was and PWCToday has returned what it once was. Has it occured to anyone else that when most of "us" left PWCToday it got better and the place "we" went took a nose dive? Food for thought.............Hmmmmmm.

Charles,
I agree with almost all of what you said!
Lanier, Yes, the drinking was a large reason we lost the site. It also was the participents dis-respect for the people in charge. Same as what we are complaning about here. A select few who dis-respect the enjoyment of the site, by the majority of the users!
Your question as to why we want to grow the sport? several sided question. Yes, I'm certainly in the industry! Make money from it!, Thats my business side. Those who know me, know my personal side is as hard core enthusiest as they come. With growth comes, acceptance with people in general. We could actually make the X games! There will be way more companies involved, thus a better selection of craft & parts for those craft. evolution! Those are some of the personal reasons I have for growth!
Now, the differance between the X & pwct? thats where we don't agree.
the progression away from pwct was the corprate enviorment! The X became home for the core standup enthusiest. Our problems came from a self policing attitude, we became laxed, our bad! That is about to change! On a corprate level, pwct/sbt are no dummies! they reacted to their loss of membership, & changed course, smart on their part!
all watercraft again has a bright future, we are just trying to do our part to see that materialize!!!
