I'm curious how/why they called you guys Zach. Have you met some of those guys before? Is it because it has a handle pole so they thought jet skiers would like it? Either way, it's HUGE for our sport to have you guys working with TP

I believe it was because they (Gomez, Zack) met Street Bike Tommy At a club during this spring WaveDaze and they kept in contact since then.

Pastrana already had a relationship with Blowsion..... Plus, honestly. Back flipping a Shredder is closer to backflipping a ski than a bike....

Yea we met at the Virginia beach Freeride and kept in contact. Then I posted a video on instagram of me on a shredder in France and that's when it clicked in Tommy's head. Shredder pole, handle pole, skate board steering, surfstance on the ski.

We got an email while I was in France and the rest is history.

Crazy.

It is very big for our sport. Exposing everyone I could about what we actually do which was funny because we were there on something unknown where as bmx, bladders, fmx guys are there.... But riding what they normally ride.

Everyone was very receptive to Freeride and I think they see now that it's getting to a point where it can't be ignored.

For me personally it was a life long dream of mine to be in that house. I've rode motocross since I was 5 and being in his gym down stares and knowing each and every jersey hung... Being a fan of Travis and nitro since day one...Was unbelievable.

Plus every person there has respect for you. If your at that house... You are good... There's a reason your there and that grants respect. And what was also cool was having guys like Travis, chad Kagy, wake Schepman, and street bike tommy being super stoked about what you do and giving you props in person, let alone other huge names tagging me on instagram congratulating me on being the first to flip it the shredder.

The entire experience has changed my life. The future looks really good.

I know one thing as I watched Zack, Mark and Ryan go for flips on that thing I was like damn....these dudes got skill. I wouldn't want to try that! If that thing landed on you even in a foam pit your DONE. And them 3 guys stepped right up and made it look like a process they already knew. I was super impressed. Was a amazing few days I'll never forget.

Sounds like an awesome time man! Glad those guys are connecting with freeriders! Need to get them on the beach with some ramps during some of the events!

I know the hater guy posted it already, but this video is much better than the first one posted, which made it look a little anemic.

If you watch until the end, they somersault the shredder, bounces off the pole. Kind of impressive cause we all know how much of a weak point that can be.

I think Nitro Circus or whoever filmed it at Pastrana's place. And they want to release it on something official thats edited etc. At least thats what I read.

All hate aside, I see that as an excellent little workhorse and would buy one in a heartbeat if I still had my acreage. I have no urge to do any of the tricks in any of the videos so the whole "fun factor" sales pitch falls short on me but I would love to see some more vids of it doing some work and ripping down trails. I had an ATV on my acreage for work and play but for $4K, one of these would have actually been more practical.

I read the title for the thread and thought, A-this will be about kool ways to tear up 1 of the 13 extra dishes on peoples homes, or B- how to steal sat tv. Well it wasn't. It is in fact about another kool, albeit a little high dollar, little rec toy. Then I saw the BS start, so I engaged the BS blinders and scrolled thru for the kool stuff. Kool pics and vids and some information. I like it, its got an engine and I can ride it. Be killer to try one out someday. Might be a decent little rental business to start, way cheaper than starting a Fly Board rental biz. Carry on with more vids so the broke and injured can continue living vicariously. Have fun EDIT: mount some guns, titties and a beer kooler and it will cherry!

I think I've been living under a rock because I just saw these for the first time like a week ago. I personally think these are awesome and will jump at the chance to rent one if I ever have the opportunity. For me though if I were to buy one, I would want one more for cruising around in the backcountry rather than doing tricks. That being said, I think it would be pretty cool if they made another model that is a little bit longer and narrower so that it more resembles a snowboard, while keeping the model they have now as a 'freestyle' model that resembles more of a short board skateboard. I love that these are small. They make for a compact alternative to a quad or a snowmobile. I have no interest in owning either a snowmobile or quad but would highly consider one of these. Like someone else said, taking one camping would be great.

Alright well what a shart show, thanks for keeping it on point Zack @tightithrash .
Look Zack nailed a lot of the key points so I will offer my bit for what its worth.
First of all this thing is Freakin cool. Yes the stock models are not the quickest but they were in phase 1 and to be honest when i first got on it, I was happy that it had as much power as it did. Spending a few days on it like most jetskis I will come to appreciate the extra power that can and will be available when the shredders come available to the US. However even with all of us going up and around the hills and mx tracks these things kept delivering. They went fast enough because they have a lot of surface area so when you get into some rough spots you have to throttle out and the speed it had felt awesome as is to get through it all. Going much faster could get sketchy really quick just by the nature of how much traction it gets when your smashing into logs, roots, and uneven ground. I had the time of my life jamming around the Pastana land forrest trails. What was sick is during our little mini trail motos if i got held up behind zack or ryan on a trail i would just turn into a big patch off the trail and shred right over big logs through bushes and all kinds of crap and end up back on the trail.
Like zack said too, riding these things is an expression of yourself. When your riding these things your leaning with your body and utilizing the mechanics of the throttle and the board to get the right amount of steering when you need it. We beat the living hell out of them and exposed a few flaws that are all being closely looked at and fixed. So by the time some of you haters even see them here in the US officially for sale, all of those issues will be tested on for the 3rd time and revised. for less than 5k turn key these things are unique and a fun ride. Not to mention one of the most interesting go anywhere beach tote pullers with the tow bar option.

Seriously though Eastcoastjumper James... I didn't catch this all until tonight and I gave you guys props on your new video earlier. Listen Im not the biggest fan of fixed steer skis, especially when you make an effort to turn a perfectly good standup into one. I even ride one for a job somedays, but i don't come into your forums or builds talking crap and tearing down you and other peoples excitement and possibilities just because I think those skis limit your riding ability when compared to any stand up. All of that you said was pretty lame and selfish to bash on it when the point of the thread was to bring some light to them. now the first few pages are littered with crap thanks dude.. really great of you to do that. with my own professionalism I'm not usually one to call anyone out and I try my best to stay neutral. That all goes out the door since I was apart of the production and testing there, so im taking this a bit personally. I am not going to say anything that this shredder cant do yet, I will tell you guys though how it is for how it was for me. zack spoke exactly for what it was too. Ben the owner is a great guy who really looked out for us, is excited about the possibilities of his product, he is listening wholeheartedly to all of our constructive suggestions, and fixing those future issues to better the finished product. We all busted our asses to make something pretty fun and unique so if your not on board for it all in any positive way just leave or make a new thread else where with your opinions so i can ignore them. I will stand up for the shredder especially for how much potential it brings for more positive exposure to our stand up scene.

Back to the positive, this was the most epic experience of my life and I'm stoked to have been able to represent the sport with zack and ryan to hopefully expose our sport through the shredder's rise in action sports events, shows, and more. We are the pioneers of how this thing gets down but in the end when people ask for our credibility as riders it comes back to how similar the style of riding is on our freeriding, and that will hopefully be showcased by every interview, show, promotion, ect. At the end of the day no matter who thinks what, the shredders are a positive thing for the sport, are unique, and cool as hell. Before i write more than i already have twice already, i'm out but will keep tabs on this for any questions about it.

Here is a bunch of photos from the trip that are on my Instagram @markgomez137
Thanks for the interest guys!
