I managed to get it painted last weekend. It was a backyard painting and if u get up close it shows, but I never intended this to be a show boat. Being a first timer with a real paint gun was a learning experience. I had a helluva time getting the spray pattern right and I was fighting the wind. Truly I could have waited for better conditions but with kids and house projects in motion time is of the essence. As long as it floats and the paint stays on for a few seasons then I'm happy. I really should have gel coated the bottom since it was so rough but a repaint will be easy if needed. I hit it heavy with the epoxy primer and tried to give it three solid coats of paint. It's a big ski and takes a ton of paint to cover this hog.
After letting it cure all week and work keeping me from touching it I decided today was turf day. I managed to get by with on one full sheet of turf and some left over scraps. I'm happy with the results. I'd like for the paint to be a lighter shade of pink but the price was right
. The seat is heading to he upholstey shop next week. Its getting black on the outer edge and light grey inthe middle. With any luck I'll get sometime to install the engine/electrics/pump this week. I know theres some odds and end parts I'm missing but won't know what till I build.
