I had ten fold problems with the pump. 1st, the JD shoe is not shaped right for a 155 seal. The Phantom uses M10 bolts for the pump, most pumps/nozzles have clearance holes for M8. Let's just say getting it in correct took some doing. What's this supposed to seal against ?
So to kill 2 birds, I made a fiberglass filler plate. The fiberglass is from a weir plate from a water treatment plant. They were throwing it out, I grabbed it 20 yrs. ago knowing one day I'd find a job for it.
Of course I exactly duplicated the shape of the JD shoe filling in the scoop grate trench. And I missed that it was missing over here ! So plate #2. I also made sure steering cable holder would clear b4 I had to make plate #3.
This killed me but, remember those M10 pump bolts ? The only way to get the alignment correct was to oval the holes. I did order my MAXX with 4 cooling connections which was great for installing.
The Heim joint on the stud for the Raptor steering just floats. Kind of sloppy, if you center it with spacers it deflects and you don't get full tilt. I made some thin wall spacers that worked perfect.
Thank you for referencing Rotaloc inserts. (I just received my @tom21 bolt on front sponsons and was thinking about glassing in some nuts on the inside of the hull to make installation and removal easy.)
On to the exhaust. I make my own clips. Interesting fact, M10x15, 20, 25 are all the same price as M10x30's (Mc Carr at least). I just buy 30's and cut what I need. I used a contour gauge for fitting the PFP block. I used Scotchlock for mounting blocks so you can remove them.
