I ended up ordering one from Riva and I should have it by Monday. Man I hate waiting for cool stuff to show up. lol

What's the deal with the hood hooks on the RRP setup? Are they incorporated? I have a set of WDK installed currently and need to know if they will work?

It looks like they mount onto the base of the RRP bracket and that they will sit higher. Do I flip the hood bracket to offset this height?

RRP is nice..I think its a little heavier than the Xmetal..


couple of things about the RRP that Im not crazy about......

1. its adjustable, but not like the Xmetal pole is....

2. that rod going up the backside of it....stainless rod threaded into cast...for freshwater, probably not as big of a deal...but with all salt eventually that will cause problems...

3. the MONSTROUS chinpad of the RRP....grated, Toby has that covered..but still


I'd go for the Xmetal over the RRP anyday of the week..

And virtually every RRP that I have seen is NOISY as hell. You can hear it over the engine even on a big engine with loud exhaust.

My RRP is super loud with the squeaks, but I run it tight and with no spring. I still really like it, but I did buy it before the new X Metal came out so.... Oh and the RRP can use the same pad as a normal SJ, so it does not have to be bigger.
