A couple of things I notied about the rrp pole even after I read what people were saying...

The ski will turn itself fully upside down 99% of the time when let go in the surf (providing it's not just sitting there the right way up). This also happens a lot in flat water when trying flips, etc. I'm not sure if the pole mouts the bars a bit higher up but I noticed when gettig back onto the ski with your elbows on the rails, the bars seem a long way away to go with your wrists if that makes sense.

The weight of it and the style of it makes it kind of painfull for flatwater freestyle as well. In saying that, I love the look of the pole, but it just wasn't practical for me, so I sold it after trying a mates ski with the rrp pole.

Now I have a ski with no pole....I'm thinking the older x-metal...i like the shape, the way the chinpad looks on it and the price...hmmmm! .

cost vs effectiveness its hard to do better than the new x metal adj pole, props to them for stepping it up,now if they would just make some riser bars to go with their steering system id be stoked.

Like I said, No matter which way I go, there will be pros and cons. I've owned AC and UMI now I'm going to try RRP. If I don't like it I'll stick it on my SXR and go X-metal on my SJ's.

XMETAL IS BETTER.

once you cut those rrp tubes... theres no going back ! :nono:

:spank:

yup...thats what turned me off to these pole...they definatly LOOK trick though..

it shouldnt be advertised as an adjustable pole...more like it can be cut to suit

there are no threads in the cast, its held on by 2 nuts

hmm, even still...dont like the SS into cast

that will happen with EVERY SINGLE A/M pole.......the stocker is the only one that has a chance in hell of righting the ski..

its only becuase the stocker is filled with foam!

It is true that once you cut you cannot go back but you can still adjust the length without cutting the tubes. I don't remember exactly but I think it's up to 4" of travel without cutting. And even after you cut you can still adjust. I do really like the X metal design now, but already have the RRP.
This is why there are plenty of aftermarket places making parts. Different strokes for different folks. Either that or we would all be riding the same skis! I still think adjustable is the way to go. Just look at the boards all the time, people swapping and cutting poles. Adjustable is the only way!!!! X-Metal or RRP :veryhappy:

Wow I am difinitely putting my RRP pole on my SJ. That looks great.

I like it enough that I may be ordering another RRP for my white ski. I'm going to try and keep a matched pair of skis. looks wise anyways.

I'm still waiting to see how the WDK Chinpad is going to look on it...not too happy with most of the chinpads for these poles.

What would you say to gold anodized tubes? Due to certain availablility issues, I ended up getting a gold anodized X-metal turnplate. depending on how well it matches the yello in the decals I might do the tubes.

What kind of chinpad cover is that?

Steve, If I go all black I'm afraid I won't be able to touch my ski on a hot day. I'll have to have a remote operated bilge that hoses down the machine before I touch it.

It's not like a car man! Your ski is in the water!!!! That is....unless you're gonna make it a trailer queen. Don't worry about your ski getting too hot for you,

I usually drag at least 3 skis to the water and will ride them all in the same day, it's nothing for me to take a ride on each machine and come back to one that's been sitting in the sun for an hour or so. Just gotta remember to splash some water up on it before I grab it I guess.
