I'm not liking that big gap at the front, catches too much water on re-entry and puts alot more strain on the mounts.

It's a carbon chinpad and it is drilled and tapped into the pole. the chinpad ain't going nowhere!

the RRP carbon chinpad is very nice too but cost almost twice as much.

I've been looking at the ones TOBY is making, great looking pad at a decent price. and it closes up that gap in the front.

very nice! but I would still drill and tap some screws in the front of it

Well i love my pole, for surf anyway , my flatwater boat will be with a XFT pole as they are light and look good,but my RRP squeeks like my bed at 3 am in the morning LOL

I run the wammer pole pad and it went well for the last year but has just started to take strain, make sure you put a nice pole pad under those poles in the surf becasue when u bail or land upside down they will hit your hood
