In the past three weeks, I've done some paved trails with my hybrid. 19 miles @ about 80 mins several times, and another 20 mile stretch in about the same time.

That the problem I am having, lack of toe movement with Browning Wool Socks. They keep my feet warm, but the lack of movement is just as bad!. Probably going to pick up a size larger set of shoes for winter riding. I am ok at 40+ degrees with my shoes and regular cold weather socks. But below that, have to go to thicker wool socks. Tried a liner under the winter socks, but that did not help.

I wear thin wool cycling socks and these on the coldest rides. They make thicker versions but these are sufficient for me. Slick rubbery finish blocks wind, rain , snow. As for the rest of the body, Craft™ base layers with windstopper front are amazing. I highly recommend both.

I did a ~23 mile group trail ride today at Brown County, Indiana. We started around 10:30 and ~80F but ended around 4 and 95F. I'm beat.

I drank around 4 liters of water plus a 32oz Powerade with my lunch and still needed more once I was done.

No, I didn't wear spandex, sorry WFO.

Last year when I was in shape, I did a relay triathlon, I was the biker. I did a 40 K at an average of 26 mph, for a time around 55 minutes. The route included 2 bridges, the rest was flat. Fun ride, but sure was tired afterwards...

Most of the GPS's are going to be short compaired to your computer. Buddy has one of the fancy Garmin's for his bike, but it also has the magnet and sensor to give accurate milage and data.
