I am in BFE.
A tank like this one should not be difficult to make at all. Only thing it needs is a fuel gauge.See drawings below. I'm just waiting to find someone to make one. Prolly go with aluminum. Will hold a antigravity battery on top of tank. Haven't decided 100% if I want to add an OEM spec spout to it for my fancy aluminum pickups.

Ha it's funny you mention a tank level sensor. If I find an aluminum gay
if i find any gay aluminum out here in the boneyard, its going STRAIGHT into the garbage! no recycler for you!
If I find an aluminum gay to throw a quote at me, I have plans to include a fuel gauge as well...Someone find me an Aluminum guy. I keep throwing cash at my monitor at all the custom aluminum fab websites but nothing seems to be happening.

Basically two 90* fittings with a clear PVC tube between them orientated vertically at the aft of the tank. I have considered my own electronic fuel meter system to determine gas left so I can mount a simple LED system on my handle pole. I've contemplated a very easy way of doing this :^D too, safely I might add. Someone find me an Aluminum guy. We already have a 4 gallon tank here at Thrust. It's too tall for some skis "superfreak".
We will have a 5 gallon tank in 3-4 weeks.
