There are some plastic molding companies that will produce custom tanks at a reasonable price,why can't the tanks extend upward into the hood area like the old Westcoast 550 tanks did,they held 5 gallons,it seems like a viable option to me somebody get on it!

That's like asking a hull builder "what's your layup schedule?" so you can copy his hard work without investing time/money into research.
I see by the clarification that this was not the intent of the question asked.
I do think that when guys spend a LOT of time and money to build parts they should not have people asking for their research and experience. Have some professional courtesy.

actually weight would not tell you much other than volume. Shape of the inner chamber is more what is important.

Aggreed, the volume is only part of the puzzle. But someone who's quite intelligent could take that + some good photos and would be able to skip a lot of r&d. Not saying that they would have the same thing, but they could come close.

True, RRP is one of many. It was introduced late in 2005. My first tube pole was built around the same time. See my avatar, that's #1 on my ski. Dale's Jet sports has made them for a long time, too. I can't talk for anyone else, but I didn't see a RRP in person untill 2007, and would never ask Rick Roy for measurements or info about how it was made.
