If I recall correctly I ground out some of the ribs but not all. Post #27 shows a partial pic of that area. I know its a giant pain to get a grinder in there and that limited how much I took off. I'm pretty sure I filled some of the weird spots in that area with thickened epoxy so I could have a smoother surface to lay the glass on. Just make sure you re-scuff the thickened epoxy after it cures, before you lay down your glass.

I can't believe that was 10 yeas ago now, lol.

Grind out the little ones and cut your mat/cloth around the larger ribs. Use filler to smooth where needed as smoofers said.

Hahaha time flies when you have fun! , but yes its not an easy place to grind but now the jet is laying apart its THE time to do it.
After reading your how to it inspired to do the job thanks alot!
