Stinger waterline

I installed a t- splitter on the cooling line. Then I put on a filter. This is needed since the stinger is a spray nozzle (like mine) or a a carb jet. Either way small particles can plug the stinger. Additionally, I installed a small value so I can tune the exhaust. Depending on how this works, I may swap the valve out for a flow control valve.

I've had problems using that air compressor line in the past. The inner part of it collapses and stops water flow. After seeing that happen I'll never use it again. I keep oem black line in stock now.

I took my ski out for the first time on Friday afterwork. My biggest fear was with all this work and all this hype the ski would be less than abosolutley crazy fast.
Well, it was fast but nothing a built 701 couldn't handle. When I got home, I noticed the throttle cable wasn't pulling completely. I thought that had to be the issue, I was running at less than full throttle. So, I took the stock throttle lever to eliminate any issues and adjusted it correctly.

When I went out today, I noticed the cable needed more adjusting as the rpms increased when I opened/ closed the hood. Now, it was running better and faster but still not living up to the hype. The cooling line to the stinger popped off, so I retighten it. I was happy to find a problem thinking this will make it work right. Still no improvement on top end.

I have to say, this ski goes through fuel! I ran out of gas, tried to switch it to reserve, but the reserve fuel line was empty so it was having a hard time starting. So, I swam the ski in. This issue helped me find the problem.

Once I added 1/2 a tank of gas, I thought I would change the spark plugs. They looked fine but were from the original donor ski. Cheap me... left them in. After all, it was a fresh water ski and the plugs looked great inside and out so I never thought to change them. HOWEVER, (I feel like a noob here) after I took the ski out again, it was performing insane! Damn plugs!

They look fine, right?

Really depends on what you are looking for. Some folks don't like to run r's on the kawis, but prefer to lug them around in the 72-7300 rpm range. We typically run ours above 7600. The speed up top isn't going to be a huge difference, but the acceleration between the two is night and day.

It looks quite nose heavy in the water. What ride plate have you got on it
I'm running the pro-tec plate I posted earlier. It's not really nose heavy. I'm sitting on the ski (forward position vs. standing at rear race position). Additionally, I have about 3/4 tank of gas. Lastly, I think you are seeing the nose under water after I back off the throttle and the ski lurches. I didn't notice any heavy nose characteristics when I was riding or turning. The pic of the the ski floating shows it is pretty well evenly balanced. I loved the handling. I do need to get used to all the power it has on turns. It feels like it could bust out of a turn if you don't muscle this thing down.

Congrats on a great looking, sounding, and running ski! Do you own a gps?
Thanks man. It so awesome when something all comes together. Great feeling.

Regarding the GPS, I have a Garmin but it is for mountain biking and not waterproof. I was thinking I can take my old iPhone which has a waterproof case and maybe use that. Anyone know of a free and accurate GPS app to use?

We stick our Garmin in a ziplock bag and then in a dry lock bag and wear it around our neck for a couple runs.
