Rad Dudes order.

I am not sure where I am going to locate the eBox, so I ordered the longer battery cables. I also ordered the front ebox bracket since it seemed to be a nice clean setup. However, since talk about getting the weight toward the rear has me second guessing if I'll use it.

It's all about balance
Ebox is maybe 5 pounds to the right to offset the chamber.
The motor being back is 35-40 pounds more than a 2 Cyl.

You'll end up using the kit up front. These conversions are not nose heavy and the bracket actually DOES aid with balance.

Chris, thanks for the additional input.

Regarding the balance of the ski, is that a big deal especially while riding? I have a superjet and it leans a bit sitting on the water. I thought it was funny when I saw a post from a newbie SJ owner talking about "my superjet leans to one side". For a SJ, it's normal and it doesn't matter when you ride. I wasn't sure if this 1100 B1 was the same issue, or if the ebox location up front was highly recommended for handling.

I've never done glass work before. A co-worker let me borrow some resin and glass mat (Thanks Pete). The setup he had made mixing the hardener and epoxy easy. The pumps on the cans made it a 1 pump of resin to 1 pump of hardener ratio (when in fact you use more resin than hardener). I like it so much I bought this kit w/ pumps.

Earlier I had to remove the smaller diameter Riva rear exhaust which was located on the wrong side for an 1100 conversion.

Luckily, I took a hole saw and bore out a chunk of the ZXI hull to use as a plug. I mixed up a batch or resin and hardener, brushed it on a mat and placed it on the inside of the exhaust hole. Then I put the plug on the outside. I used masking tape on the outside to hold the plug into place.

now the backside (inside):

Flipped over the ski to start bottom hull work. Took a heat gun and removed all the decals. Now I needed to fill the holes from the rear sponsons. There were a few nicks that needed to be filled also. Therefore, my brother and I sanded, then started putting on marine tex.

Hopefully you replaced that plastic pump shoe.

On the balance thing. Meh, I dont think it makes a difference when you're riding. Not that I wouldn't buy that bracket, I just wouldn't do it because of balance. If i was trying to sell you a bracket, I would tell you it makes a big difference though.

"Hopefully you replaced that plastic pump shoe" - Any specific reasons for that (other than it is a bit ugly with old sealant which needs to be removed :))?

Casey @ IPD mentioned not to use the stock pump stator since you can blow out the veins. However he has a full race 1100, not sure my setup requires anything more than stock. Just wondering if your pump shoe comment has any ties to expected pump flow issues.

They very we'll known for braking happens pretty easily , ask me how I know
I slam the crap out of mine wavejumping and have never broken one on any blaster or superjet. I run aggressive intake grates as well on these skis.

I think I'll try to keep the cost down and use the stock one. If it breaks then I have reason to spend more cash ;)

I stripped all the parts off the bottom portion of the seat. Trying to make it light as possible before I ship it to JetTrim for a new cover.

Hmm, should shave that hump or leave it cool retro?

Originally, I was going to polish the top red gel coat and paint the bottom black. Basically like one of Scottie Mac's skis. This one looks like vinyl wrap on the bottom. Mine would be all black paint bottom.

Now I have changed my mind and will be going all black top & bottom of the hull (adding also a vinyl graphics kit). This means more work though. All the top trim pieces now have to be removed. Bummer, but I hope the look of the ski makes it worth it.
