Rick Roy is runnig a lot of DASA 850 stock stroke motors right now. Im not sure what domes you got but call Kyle at Dasa, he'll hook you up with some info on the spec for compression with your particular motor. Mines 185 psi, and with a non rickter they claim the stock pump will work fine. I cant wait to find out.

Without getting too far off-topic, my switch to 140 mag on my measly std cylinder big bore (754cc) made a DRASTIC difference everywhere in the RPM band.
So I don't know why you'd have to wait. :dunno:

I put a new 144mm on my SJ with a big bore and then on my FS2 with same engine - not overly impressed. It did "grab" a bit better when off balance but not $1200 better. I was just as happy with my OEM pump and hooker prop.

How did you pick the impeller pitch? Did you spend any time trying to tune the pump to the rest of your setup?

Compression has to be checked with PV's held open, with the new style PVs this has to be done by hand, or with the spring cap off with the old PV's. It will be SIGNIFICANTLY higher if the valves are closed.

Every assembled motor we build has a build sheet we keep detailed motor specs, including actual compression values when it leaves. Call the shop or RR and we will find out what your compression should be.

Got my fr2 this week what a bit of kit very pleased with it got this specifically for surf riding just need to set it up, anyone cut the rear bond rail off on there rickter?
Need to change hood seal, replace hood latch with s/s ratchet strap, add front foot strap, and primer pump.and sort the pump, prop.
I'm running a 850pv dasa stock stroke, only rode it for 20 mins on flat water for a test run it's -3 here at mo,
Seems as its not hooking up or not getting the power down it's running a 13/17 prop on a stock pump, has 200+ psi compression on pots and running on pump gas,on dasa site says 200 + psi race gas,I think I need to change prop and drop my tbm on as I was expecting mass power difference compared to my fully ported 760 superjet,is anyone running this engine in there rickter.

Ok I've changed pump with the one from my 760 ported jet which has a tbm and 14/19 skat prop,I've also changed the stock water box to a modified stock w/box,I've also added front foot strap I'll test this tomoz and see if there is any difference hopefully this sorts it out.

Thanks Brian when I did compression test I didn't touch the pv's so I suppose that I got an incorrect reading,it's still very cold here in the uk -3 so havnt had the chance to test it out yet.
