My vote is for ar platform. Easy caliber changes with no tools needed like mentioned earlier. No need for sbr anymore with sigtac brace / stock looking thing.

The Sig Brace is interesting, I would like to try one, feel out the shortcomings, see how effective it can actually be. I too would have to say AR platform. Just so modular and refined, not perfect, easy to find parts and accessories.

Ar's are boring and common. I have one because I was able to build it for $420 including the mag, otherwise I won't waste my money. So many more interesting guns out there to own, this new arx being just one of them.

I've held the ARX but not fired it. It's weird and i'm not a fan TBH.

It definitely has a ton of neat features but... I just don't see myself at the range saying "Hmmm, I wish I could swap barrels so I could shoot some _____ instead of .223"
AR or AK

My jr carbine is pistol caliber in 9mm and has the capability to change to 40 or 45. Its a cool feature to talk about but im not about to go buy two more barrels and another bolt to be able to swap out calibers. The great thing about an ar is you can pick up a complete upper in a different caliber for cheap and swap it in 10 seconds anyways so the arx isnt some revolutionary new concept to me. But shoot what you like and if you want it get it. Worst case its no good and you have to sell it or let it sit unused in the deep dark back of the safe.

I didn't want to mess up the handgun talk with my question so here is a thread for rifle talk. have at it.

I would like some opinions on the new arx100 that beretta put out from those of you who have had a chance to shoot one. Here is the article that introduced me to this gun (edit: cant get the link to work). Now I know you AR-15 guys feel obligated to hate these on principle but I'm intrigued. I've been wanting to get my first AR for a while now, but after seeing this I'm thinking about getting one of these. Thoughts?
This guy does pretty good reviews. Sure is a lot of polymer, too much for me, but if ya like it "pull the trigger".
