Hunter,
Everything looks good. The paint was a good idea, especially if you are going to ride in the salt water, but I do like the look of the raw casting.

Less is more IMO. The bare cast looks clean now, but it would not stay that way for long w/ its textured surface. greasy hands would make a mess of it fast. I want to make everything look clean and sanitary. The motor will all be black for simpicity and contrast.........all the stainless hardware will be polished for that little bit of zing. Carbs were painted for the same reason, all covers and hardware will be polished. Black, polished or anodized billet throughout

Riverrat, do you know whether the top deck of the Envy is interchangable with the bottom decks of the Rev/X-jet?

on the vertical mount kit does the angle of the plate match the angle of the motor mounts? the angle looks too sharp to match stock mounts.

I'm curious what are these bolt on extensions?

"Modified SXR style bottom deck (-4in w/ bolt on extensions)"

Is this bottom hull identical to sxr, but 4 inches shorter and lighter?

thanks,
Joe

The hull itself is -4in but you can use hull extensions to add length to the hull so you can add that material back. In all achuality the hull can be anywhere from -4in to stock length or even +1 or +2in. It is a good feature b/c hull length and rider weight go hand and hand in determining how the boat handles. With the envy the rider can custom taylor the hull to their specs and for different conditions quickly and easily. I will post some more pics soon.........

thanks, would love to see pics of the back end. So is it identical bottom to the sxr, but shorter?

Yes, but Jeff is working on a modified bottom deck that uses the yamaha pump configuration. He is doing that so if a guy with a yamaha SJ wants a SXR styled ENVY he can just order the hull and all his parts will just bolt right in. I opted for the kawi style pump so I have to order a different drivetrain.

Rat-Back to your pump set up- does the envy use a stock sxr shoe or the skat shoe?
What drive shaft & drive bearing housing are you using? I'm really looking foward to hearing how you boat hooks up. Good luck with the build

I can use either shoe. The hull is the same as a SXR so it can use the OEM or the skat trak that is a OEM replacement. I am using the aluminum Skat shoe and 145mm skat-trak setback 12 vein magnum pump w/ a extended skat trak drive shaft. The bearing housing will be OEM kawasaki. Couplers will be kawi style billet ADA. Drive shaft side will be kawi thread and motor side will be yamaha thread to fit the yamaha crank.

Any more updates to this ski? I would love to see this thing rip in person.

Not yet. The billet manifold is done, just waiting on the first batch of chambers to be stamped. Once the motor is done I will throw it in the X-jet for a test run. I have not really talked to jeff about the build time. I think he said I would have it in April. No bother, I am taking a long over due vacation in April. Hopefully it will arrive by the time I get back.

Since the new dry pipe responds well to water injection I added a digital MSD water injection kit to the build. If I mock the motor up in the x-jet it should just be a plug and play build after I turf the ENVY.
